Is the world ganging up on her? Or is it the other way round?

You work for yourself John, so you should be used to negotiating a deal. You ask for a higher figure than you want, knowing that you'll get knocked down, but you'll still end up with the figure you intially wanted. The EU leaders aren't businessmen, they're politicians who don't live in the real world, and they're deliberately being obstructive to deter others from leaving. But although the EU27 has agreed to negotiate as one, it's the little assitants that are sticking their oars in, and throwing figures around.

It has been reported on many news channels that the initial divorce settlement has been increased, and I wouldn't be surprised if the do it again.

It was e20Bn in October, £50Bn in December, and yesterday it reached £84Bn

Even the website you link says

"Various figures ranging from 50bn to 100bn euros had been knocking around, he said, but he had "not seen" any official numbers"

so there is no figure that has been demanded; far less has the demanded figure increased.

It's just the Brexiteers pretending to be brave by saying they won't agree to something they haven't been asked.

By the way, I absolutely refused yesterday to give you ten million pounds, and today I refuse to give you twenty million pounds.

Totaly correct, but also not at all John, it's just the EU rumour mill preparing for the actual figure that does get presented, and it'll very likely be somewhere between the top two figures bandied about. It's just pre negotiating strategies, that's all.

By the way, I absolutely refused yesterday to give you ten million pounds, and today I refuse to give you twenty million pounds.

So that tells me that if I demand about 5 million from you, theres a better chance of getting it from you than if I ask for 10 or 20.

it's just the EU rumour mill

or Theresa's rumour mill.

"An EU source has told the BBC that officials in Brussels will not enter into a discussion about potential figures for a final bill"

"Mr Barnier said there was no agreed figure but the UK and EU had entered into "mutual commitments" which must be honoured. "There is no Brexit bill. The final settlement is all about settling the accounts.""

or Theresa's rumour mill

And why Theresas and not the EU's
Which translated means "Well we both know that we're going to try and get some money out of you for having the temerity to leave, but we'll drag it out a bit, because we're not sure how much we can get away with yet"
So there will be a figure being asked for at some stage.

And why the EU's and not Theresa's

So nobody has demanded 100 or 60 or any other figure, and nobody has increased their demand. It's just the Mail and the Express and Theresa trying to whip up anti-EU sentiment.

And with some people it is working
the "divorce bill" the EU is demanding, is going up?

I get great comfort knowing that despite the whinging and whining, and posts to moan about Theresa and Brexit, in 2019 JohnD will just have to suck it all the same.

Her own party? Those dastardly foreigners? The electorate?

Won't have a public debate, won't meet the public, only visits hand-picked audiences and won't let TV cameras in.

An invited audience in a Maidenhead toothpaste factory show their support with tumultuous applause

"May has already ruled out the prospect of participating in a TV debate, and early indications suggest that her aides will control her appearances tightly. There was further evidence of this on Friday, with assembled workers heard telling reporters that they were "not allowed" to answer their questions."

(Cornwall) "Local news reporters claim they were locked in a room by Theresa May's press officers as the Prime Minister toured a factory during an election campaign visit."

"Accusations have been whizzing around online that at a campaign event at the Shine building in Leeds, the Prime Minister spoke to a room full of guests invited by the party, rather than local people or people who work in the building’s office space."

"residents of the estate were not invited and gathered outside waiting for a glimpse of May, while the audience inside was made up of Conservatives activists from across Bristol and South Gloucestershire."

(Craithes) "Theresa May is facing fresh accusations of “hiding” from voters after a campaign event held in Scotland was publicly listed as a children’s birthday party.

Bemused locals in Aberdeenshire had been unable to find the location of the Prime Minister’s visit, which was not advertised in advance."

"The real Tories are very obvious to spot. But when you look at the BBC video from which this picture is taken, you can see that the others not only do not look enthusiastic, they do not join in the clapping. Do not take my word for it, watch the video – the body language, apart from the obvious Tories, is more of hostages than supporters.

My contacts in Banchory tell me that this is because, in a weird Tory return to the 19th century, it was made clear to tenants of the Crathes estate that they were expected to turn out to support strong and stable leadership. The heir to the estate, in whose name the hall was booked, is Alexander Burnett, old Etonian and Tory MSP. Which century are we in?"

Another idiot posting up propaganda harvested from his favourite libertard websites.

with accurate examples.

unlike rogerjudy who just throws unsubstantiated nonsense around without even caring that it's not true.

As you did not disagree with the quote that you posted, you agree with it?
"There is no Brexit bill."

How many times must you fail to see what is being negotiated is not just a number, there are issues with regulation, trade etc that have nothing to do with actual financial cost.

When you negotiate for some work do you also negotiate the regulations? No.
