I bet it would only take you 20 minutes to fit that and remove that wood :)

Well I found it after googling fittings after seeing gaping gap - sent Mrs out to pick it up - he tried said it would not fit - with this fitting the waste exit into stack was the opposite ie too far back rather than too far forward if that makes sense?

With the amount of space you’ve got there.

There’s no reason for the pan/cistern to be away from the wall. Even if it were necessary you build a proper boxing not a couple of bits of wood.

Difficult to tell but I would expect that with the cistern flush against the wall the pan connector you’ve got there would work well.

The basin waste is stupid he needed an s trap or even an “m&f”/“spigot” 90 would have helped.

£250 is very cheap to have what you’ve asked for but a rip off for what you’ve got.

Even so, as a qualified plumber, he should have been able to find a suitable arrangement. Maybe your swan neck with a mcalpine WC-CON-EXT. Doesn't help your dilemma regarding payment though .

Also what sort of **** hands over a bill knowing the customer is nowhere near satisfied?

Does he even expect to get paid.

As far as this fixing - acceptable ?

He changed the copper going to taps, stopped the uphill bend at bottom of basin by swapping to flexi basin waste - I just thought cutting the pipe shorter to make 90 degree bend so as not trying to run uphill would be way to roll? albeit the 90 deg bend was prob not needed anyway, he said at start there may be a small gap at back of toilet - he still maintains that the only way to fit a toilet here without a gap is for me to buy a toilet with a boxed section at rear - like a vanity type arrangement.

Can you take picture from the side of the toilet showing the distance from the wall the soil pipe exists the boxing.

Now I would have swept the water feed back to the wall, and then in behind the cistern, cut the soil stack back a bit, and then used this, but I suspect there is a better way.
