Need to cut granite block in two.
It's sticking out of a wall and half needs to come off.
Cross section is 30 cm x 15cm.
Most cost effective option?

I’d try and cut it with a grinder then shear it off with a bolster.

Thanks Ian,

I got this standard size grinder disc: Spectrum DX10 Turbo Diamond Blade 115 x 22.2mm
https://www.toolstation.com/shop/Po...1450/Spectrum+DX10+Turbo+Diamond+Blade/p67488
from toolstation for £13.98.

It allowed me to cut 2cm deep all the way around the edge of the granite block.
Then a few hard taps with the large demolition hammer and it just sheared off.
Nice clean break, just as desired.

This disc cut into the Aberdeen Granite with ease and without apparent wear to the disc.
I've never cut granite before and I'm astonished at the ease with which this blade and my standard size small angle grinder cut into it.
Didn't really have to apply much pressure and the blade just cut in.
Didn't need to use water either.

If you want to cut into granite up to 2cm deep with your standard size grinder this blade does a fantastic job.
