It was to do with the hot weather last year. Nowt to do with Brexit, all to do with global warming........
Selected quoting does you no favours...

"The prolonged heatwave last summer and high prices in the Canaries* reduced customer demand for winter sun, particularly in the Nordic region, while there is now little doubt that the Brexit process has led many UK customers to delay their holiday plans for this summer,"

They're also trying to offload their airline, or apparently relocate it to mainland Europe...

*aka low value of sterling and high costs servicing nordic routes due to currency costs

I quoted your whole post.

Perhaps you might enlighten me how I was selective.

Maybe that long hot summer last year is still affecting your cognitive ability :ROFLMAO:

£1.46billion.

What’s that divided by the average holiday cost of £1200 per person?

It’s 1,216,666 holidays. So are they saying they lost it when really they expected to earn it but didn’t? As in 300,000 less families booked holidays with them?

"British Steel requests emergency state loan to avert collapse"

"Uncertainty around Brexit takes its toll as talks continue with ministers about additional support"

https://www.ft.com/content/121f4736...04dba66b&ftcamp=crm/email//nbe/Brexit/product

"British Steel has asked the government for tens of millions of pounds in emergency funding as the UK’s second-largest steel producer battles to avoid a collapse that would lead to thousands of job losses. The company blamed uncertainty caused by Brexit as it confirmed it was in talks with ministers about “a package of additional support”, which one person briefed on the discussions said was for £70m-£80m. The request for the loan comes just weeks after British Steel secured more than £100m from the government to help it meet payments to an EU environmental scheme."

we hold all the cards, right?

It really might have been smart for them to anticipate that people would choose non-EU (or UK) holidays with all the remoaner doomsayers talking up visas and queues at EU airports.

They've had nearly 2 years to consider the impact of a weaker £ and take steps to mitigate. The reality is package holidays are in decline as people no longer want to go to Torremolinos for 2 weeks all-inclusive, butlins in the sun holidays.

Can anyone tell me how much airbnb shrank over the same period? I'm assuming they also suffered because of Brexit.

I am shocked that we still have high street travel agents. The ones left are almost always empty. Plus, I had a terrible experience with one of them (forget if Thomas Cook or Thompsons) and it cost me more to fix the balls-up booking they did, never used one since.

Ah yes...

Blame it all on the remainers when the chickens come home to roost...

Quitters will never accept any responsibility for their stupidity!

Yes, it was the remoaners fuelling lies about EU travel ...

anyway, isn't Brexit about stopping immigration?

Or is tourism OK? In which case, everybody can enter and leave on a tourist visa ...

Or not leave?

The only thing that will change is the skin colour of many of the future immigrants...

Quitters are gonna love that
