Wetherspoons have a big voice on Brexit because it is one of the few big businesses in the UK that support Brexit.

Patisserie Valerie also supported Brexit, but they went bust. Surprised Butlins are not being very vocal really. Although after funding Leave, they then went and recruited cheap EU labour ...

But I bet a lot of EU citizens work at Spoons too. I wonder if their profit margin will suffer?

A large proportion of Wetherspoons’ 30,000+ staff are EU nationals and yet Martin himself appears to be utterly incoherent on the issue of migrant workers’ rights. In one breath, he salutes EU citizens’ contributions to the UK’s social, cultural and economic life, and in the next he pontificates in favour of an Australia-style “points system” that prioritises the kind of “skilled” and “professional” work that, if enacted, would attack the right of his own employees to even work here.

He sounds a bit thick really. Probably drunk on cheap beer all the time.

Typical thick mind set of a Brexiteer, Martin and Dyson just want the publicity surrounding their non sensical statements .

They think that once they get rid of EU Nationals they expect they will be overwhelmed by UK workers wanting Zero Hours Contracts .

Yeah. My dad worked in the restaurant business for years, and he is a bit "old fashioned" in his views of people from overseas. I was surprised years ago when he was talking about how much better EU workers, especially Polish, were. They worked harder, complained less, did a better job, took pride in their work. British waitresses and kitchen staff would forever be complaining, taking time off sick, or just not working so hard, and still expect more pay!

Tim will be in for a shock, if he is sober anytime after Oct 31st.

I often wonder if my 'local' changed into a combined coffee shop with fast wifi and a bar in the evening, perhaps it would do better trade.

Yes...
Pubs need to reinvent them selfs. To do this they need to change the ambience from a coffee shop in the afternoon to a pub or wine bar in the evening. Not just a coffee machine.

Very creative but is not BoIIoks

Maybe I can say *******s if its without a named politician.

Anyway what posh spouts isnt creative, its just hogwash. Some people believe it though -thats the scary thing.

I sometimes listen to his LBC prog -goodness me people ring up to worship him and wallow in the twaddle he spouts.

I can imagine him singing this to himself whilst reminiscing about those boarding school jolly japers:

'Row row the boat
gently down the stream
belts off, trousers down
Isnt Brexit a scream'

:ROFLMAO:

You just think anyone voting Brexit is a racist... Its about control who we let in... Why would you want criminals be allowed ito our country...

Tim is an Australian.. Australia havnt got it right but they have it better than what is dictated to us.

Many are - and thick and sometimes drunk.

How do you tell?

Tim is an Australian..
Where did you get that from?

Australia havnt got it right but they have it better than what is dictated to us.
What is dictated to us?

More Trumpisms and Johnsonisms - i.e. lies and plain nonsense?

Did you agree with him? I don’t.

They may well be better workers than your standard lazy bastard but the majority of British workers are also better than the lazy bastards.

Then they need to up their game

Quite - who is going to pay £2.60 a pint in a miserable, run down pub, when they can nip in a Spoons and get a pint for £2.60 in a much livelier and dynamic atmosphere?

UK low end workers, need to be taught the work ethic at school. So many seem to be brought up to expect a life of luxury and leisure, with no effort needed. There also needs to be more effort put into forcing them to earn their living.
