Muppet Mogg

I've not read the operation yellowhammer document, though i'd like to if anyone has a link.
This may or may not be the full document

However, i did hear the doctor in question ring into to an LBC programme where Mogg was being interviewed and ask an extremely leading and virtue signalling question about the level of mortality that Mogg would accept as a result of Brexit which is what kicked off the whole argument.
An extremely relevant and correct question.

And no different from asking about the general or economic benefits of Brexit, or similarly the negative aspects.

Quitters don't like to answer such questions, but Smogg himself said in a lapsed moment that he didn't expect any benefits for 50 years.
Which by default means that there will be negative effects - which undoubtedly means that there will be people who suffer physically as well as financially.

A couple of people I know who are in the medical/care professions are saying that they are already having problems getting certain medicines or are having to accept alternatives that were not originally prescribed.

So what level of 'mortality' would you be prepared to accept in return for Brexit?

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately its not the actual Yellowhammer document which is an official sensitive document (which technically i'm cleared to read anyway :) )

Please explain to me why you think that, before brexit has happened, brexit is having any impact on the availability of medicines?

My understanding is that there are shortage problems across the whole EU at the moment, due to stockholders withholding supply to drive up prices and manufacturers focusing on the more profitable markets, of which the NHS is not one for some medicines.

I would not accept any increased level of mortality due to medicine supply difficulties, which i also believe to be the government's position and was certainly Mogg's position. The government has made clear it has contingency plans and funds to source medicines from other sources if required.

The Dr in question didn't ask his question to find out the answer. He was asking the question to make a political point and by doing so put himself in the political firing line.

Unless i've missed this being discussed elsewhere, influencing the government and the public was exactly what he was trying to do.

He may have been asked to contribute to the yellowhammer document in isolation and if Mogg had then started accusing him of extreme bias without any other input then Mogg would have been out of line. But by ringing in to an extremely political radio station like LBC and directly challenging the Mogg in the way he did, i'm afraid he showed his bias.

If he has been actively telling patients that they are at risk as a result of a no deal brexit, then that is also at best unprofessional and at worst deliberately negligent.

Call the GMC.

The BMA backed him up.

Lower likes to continue dig himself deeper.

Which your boy Mogg apologised for.

Do you even have the foggiest how NICE and the NHS procure medicines and how they are paid for.

As to medicine shortages another throwaway point.

You might not accept it but that is the reality - what you fail to grasp is the issue of isotopes needed for imaging. But do keep on showcasing your lack of understanding.

What would you like me to ask the GMC?

Just because i disagree with you doesn't make me wrong or be digging a hole.

He has apologised for likening the Dr to the anti vax ex doctor wakefield. The delivery of the point was too aggressive, but the point stands.

I think i have a reasonable understanding of how NICE and the NHS procure medicines and i think i have a reasonable understanding of how imaging isotopes decay and the method of supply. Please explain how you think Brexit will prevent the supply of these to justify your point. You accuse me of throwaway points, so please demonstate your understanding of the facts to show me where i'm wrong.

You questioned his probity so as he challenged coward Mogg, call the GMC and make a complaint.

So tell me how does NICE and the NHS pay for pharmaceutical supplies and where do pharmacies fit into that?

Has been happening to me for many years now. Nowt to do with Brexit.

As long as will be required. Nothing in your quoted link seems particularly alarming.

So tell me how does NICE and the NHS pay for pharmaceutical supplies and where do pharmacies fit into that?
I could explain about NHS precription services, drug tariff etc, but why don't you just tell me the specific point that you think i'll fall down on and then we can discuss it.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but most of the arguments about what will go wrong and what won't work don't allow for the government and associated agencies changing the way they operate of things start to fail.

I appreciate that in normal circumstances, government and bureaucracy is slow to change. But in the even of a no deal brexit, flexibility is being planned for and allowed for in advance.

The government is making plans, as they should, but they also expect things to change and for unforseen events to take place that will require adaptions.
