******* stole the whole country.

So to defend a point about racism Priti points out she has also been the victim of racism and Bigot Bodd thinks that's dealing with the issue.

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Priti Patel seems to have a severe case of the Stockholm syndrome.

William the Conqueror.
Also known as Guillaume le Conquérant.
I believe that statue is in Caen. Hence is Duke of Normandy title.

I know its awfully tedious Festive, but trying to argue I am 'getting upset' is a rather weak ad hominem and simply untrue.

Its what you do when youve run out of argument.

try debating honestly for once, you never you know you might advance your knowledge instead of staying within your safety zone of bias.
We done we haven't resorted to childish generalised piffle today. I'll engage with you when you show you can consistently debate in a mature way (y)
We all get passionate on our idiotic little soap boxes in a nano virtual world noone actually gives a **** about but still...

was it?

Im not disagreeing, just dont know.

just had quick look:

A. Slavery was not born in racism, but racism was born from slavery

1. historically, slaves were all colors and groups

2. first slaves in America were Indians and poor white

I guess it's a long debate.
You have only highlighted one of the economic explanations, there are others.
e.g.
Economic explanation
C. Black slaves were cheaper than white labor

1. theories of racial inferiority were later rationalizations to
bolster the black slavery system

Cultural explanations
C. Europeans were culturally opposed to enslaving other Europeans
1. defined themselves as non-slaves
2. even criminals not condemned to slavery
3. Europeans might kill each other, but not enslave them
Ideological explanations
B. Four preconditions for European enslavement of blacks
1. Support in European religious and historical traditions for institutions of slavery
2. Historical Arab trade in African slaves
3. Muslim religious racism transmitted to Europe ("curse of Ham")
4. Negative connotations of color black

It's that funny old problem, of white people arguing with white people about how black people should feel about the treatment they have endured, and still suffer.

Racism certainly came out of slavery - slave owners, traders and politicians that supported (made money) from it didn't want anybody feeling sorry for the plight of the black man, and woman and child, who were chained, raped, beaten, tortured and murdered, as well as forced into hard labour, for centuries, at the hands of white men. Once again, the minds of the masses have been bent by shrewd marketing.

You cannot judge historic figures in the past with todays societal norms.

That Bristol slave owner Colston used to through sick slaves off his boat so he could then claim the insurance. There is no need to defend his actions.
