I'm trying the same principles on Facebook to make real friends, not virtual friends.
Everyday, I walk down the street, telling passers-by what I have eaten, how I feel at the moment, what I have done the night before, what I will do later and with whom. I give them pictures of my family, my dog ( ), and of me gardening, taking things apart in the garage, watering the lawn, standing in front of landmarks, (not statues though), driving around town, having lunch, and doing what everybody does every day. I also listen to their conversations, and give them a thumbs up (y) and tell them I like them.
It works just like Facebook. I already have four people following me, two police officers, a private investigator and a psychiatrist.

Hateful invention... but got friends (real) scattered over the world. Makes keeping in touch simple.
None of it is in my real name though and I have never, ever posted a picture of my dinner...

I've tried using it for advertising the business..... .. Didn't work...
I had a friend put up how his hemorrhoids were giving him Jib....... He got 5 likes for that....

Never been on it and probably never will, joined friends reunited under a false name years ago had a quick look round and never went back

Well done. Next, try ditching the reposting of 5 year old jokes. (y)

I joined facebook in order to be a member of the local facebook group for my village.

during this crisis its been very helpful for people needing to connect in the community -
Ive seen people saying 'has anybody got any spare tomato plants', or 'Ive run out of nappies can anybdoy spare a few'

I met some people like that on my walkabout.
I told them to, 'get 'orf out'f it". Bloomin' scroungers. ;)
I think that's when I picked up another follower.
