I've been to restaurants around half a dozen times since the restrictions eased. I've not felt unsafe in any of them. Have to book ahead / provide contact details, hand sanitiser before going in, tables removed to keep customers far enough apart, much improved ventilation + windows & doors wide open, disposable paper menus & wine lists and napkins, one person in the loos at a time with socially distanced queues and improved cleaning, everything gets cleaned including chairs as soon as a party leaves, staff wearing masks and/or visors, menus are a bit more limited presumably to aid distancing in the kitchen. I'd say all of the places I've been have been almost full to their new capacity. The difference is the restaurants don't seem to be turning the tables over more than once per evening/lunch service. I'm intending taking full advantage of the eat out scheme to try some of the more up-market places I wouldn't usually go to.
