Nah, Spurs are paying £250k per week Real Madrid making up the rest of the total £600k per week apparently.
Hence my mentioning the 'highest estimate' !

Of course since he's frequently 'injured', he's no doubt pleased that his daily wage pays more than a nurse's yearly one and he's getting his 'money's worth'!

He'll have to retire at 35, poor sod. At least the nurse can carry on working well into their 70’s.......

Market rate, perverse, granted.

Ellal. Serious question. Have you ever made a post that hasn’t ended with an exclamation mark?

I see what you did there. Usually you end every post with an exclamation mark. Wondered if you talked like that too.

Who cares what bale earns

I dont contribute to it

How much are head of councils paid I contribute to there wages

Or some harley Street quack who was trained at the tax payers expense. And probably works 1 day a week. For the NHS

Look at footballers' pay as commission - better than the bosses keeping it all.

Of course, those bosses could reduce the ticket prices but that's not how it works if people are willing to pay.

Most of the money is made via the media deals, not 'bums on seats'...

Murdoch et al worked out that football (or indeed most sports) is simply an 'opium for the people' and ripe for the picking...

Music and Cinema are of course the same...

Simply ways for a few to make a lot of money from the wish of the many to escape just for a while from their mundane lives (!)

As long as he pays his fair whack of tax, I couldn't care less what he earns. High earners, even with tax avoidance(legal) schemes, pay quite a bit more than your average Joe/Josephine(reminds me of a song).
Not the point...

Let us suppose he actually pays his 'fair whack' of tax and NI, if he does get the upper amount that's been bandied around then that leaves him with the miserly sum of approx £950K a month...

What do you think the percentage of the average football fan's monthly wage who pays £50 to see a game (when you can) or similar for a sky subscription is?
