Ah, the little englander 'they don't like it up 'em' approach...

Well guess what...

When this 'virus' thing ends all those destinations will have a market of 500 million people to entice travel to given the freedom of movement they will still enjoy...

Of course the UK will have to revert back to those quaint things called visas to visit/stay in 'exotic' European places...

Let alone the extra costs of health insurance/driving permits etc etc...

As will those wishing to gawp at the backward looking UK animals who caused this in the first place...

Guess who will come off worst! (n)
Late night, couldn’t sleep or between ****s? Sorry, shifts?

And you can't spell.
How easy it is to arrive at the wrong conclusion. This is typical of someone selecting the conclusion that they prefer. It's called confirmation bias, but I suspect you knew that. Your arrival at the wrong conclusion was a perfect example of confirmation bias.
Missing out one letter when typing does not automatically mean that I can't spell.

Relax Notch, we're sending in the gunboats.

Four navy ships to help protect fishing waters in case of no-deal Brexit | UK news | The Guardian

Four Royal Navy patrol ships will be ready from 1 January to help the UK protect its fishing waters in the event of a no-deal Brexit, in a deployment evoking memories of the “cod wars” in the 1970s.

The 80-metre-long armed vessels would have the power to halt, inspect and impound all EU fishing boats operating within the UK’s exclusive economic zone (EEZ), which can extend 200 miles from shore.

Naval sources said the deployment had been long planned, but it comes after Conservative ministers quietly doubled the total fleet of patrol ships from four to eight, partly in case of a crisis caused by a no-deal Brexit. “We have done a lot of work to ensure we are ready for every eventuality,” one insider said.

Although the offshore patrol ships carry machine guns, they would not be expected to use weapons against EU fishing boats. Instead they would aim to run alongside a vessel believed to be breaking the rules, boarding it for inspection if deemed necessary.

In extreme cases, an EU boat could be impounded and taken to the nearest UK port. “Nobody is going to be firing warning shots against French fishermen; firearms are only used when there is danger to life,” the navy source said.

Personally, I find this line a little worrying:

Although the offshore patrol ships carry machine guns, they would not be expected to use weapons against EU fishing boats.
Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!

The mere threat of using military personnel against the citizens of another NATO member is beyond stupid, even if they are committing an offence. The civil police are the correct instrument, not the military.

If the military are being used to facilitate any policing of the fishing area it should be made abundantly clear what their role is.

The last time RN was used in a fishing dispute risked the break-up of NATO. It cost far more than it gained, at least two people were killed, and was a failure of negotiations and gunboat diplomacy.

well that's certainly a very convincing argument in favor of Boris' Omnishambles.

Durham's argument is typically contradictory:

1 "I voted for Brexit because it's going to be great"

2 "You can't say Brexit will be bad, we will have wait and see"

If 2 is true, voting based on 1 is a lie.

All Brexiteers have left is bravado.

It all amounts to the same jingoistic bollards

"We will stuff the German car industry"
"They can't fish in our waters"
Etc etc

More sensible than the Remoan.."""I predict 100% the UK economy forever"" version you and yours Pedals.

It's a nice place but I'm not sure what prices of everyday things are like. Last time I was in that neck of the woods things were relatively cheap so you could get a meal for £1.50 and a beer was 50 pence and staying in a hotel was about a £10. No doubt the prices have crept up
.

Yes, the most civilised country I've ever visited. Prices have crept up a bit though - beer now a whole £1 - pint and meal for £3 or £4 from the daily menu in a pub. Still fantastic value for most things. Beer was 16p/pint on first visit in 1995. Almost drowned in it, especially as it's so good. :)

I have predicted no such thing.

We already know leaving the Single Market means more trade barriers means more costs.

We already know the EU is our closest and biggest trade partner by a country mile

We already know UK global tariffs are the same as EU tariffs

We already know UK trade deals are no better than EU deals.

Please point out where any of that is prediction

I wouldn't want to be an English person living in France at the moment.

Only if its cheap enough

Do it all online; its not hard

I don't go anywhere without Insurance; Do you

At a guess it will be the tourist destinations; The Chaves have the whole world as an alternative including staying home. And if they cant afford it then guess what it will still be the tourist destinations that suffer.

Ha ha ha

Brexiteers have been saying for years the EU would cave in.
They haven't.
They won't.

Really... `````lets see what the french wine & Cheese producers think when we are not buying their wines or cheeses. and their cars. Not the sorptive people to sit on their hands.. Thats why I like the French ''''' they don't just moan,,,, they do something about it.

Two points: The French are no way as suspicious of foreigners as the British are.
The French were disinterested in Brexit, and more concerned with Covid, etc.
Threatening their fishermen with gunboat diplomacy will, for sure, make them sit up and become involved. Certainly support will flood to the fishermen from all quarters of France, and probably the EU.
It's probable that support for Macron will surge in the process.
Boris's self-defeating policies again, just like the Internal Markets Bill.
