What have you been doing today?

Well, I think we’ve had our first sunny day since Christmas so I’ve got round to fitting up my Wifi camera bird box. Bit of a faff as it involved removing some tiles from the roof and a bit of underfelt to get the power cable into the loft to power the thing. It has its own light inside which is controlled by a light sensor and switches off at night so the birds won’t be disturbed (switches to infra-red at night) plus a motion sensor that will send an alert to my iPad when there’s any action. All good so far but no takers yet - well it has only been about half an hour!

Mottie, does it tell you where to mount it? as in what direction it should be facing? I wouldn't mind getting one.

Been 44km, up hill and down Dale, through the snow on me mtb with a swimming mate (who is also a fitness machine).

I can't feel my thighs now, yet he'll be going running tomorrow too

Well, today we flouted the rules. Took a trip to meet up with our grandson in a park to give him his birthday presents from us, his two great grannies and his two aunts. He was two today. On the way there, Mrs Mottie tutted and commented on the number of cars on the road saying that they can’t all be making essential journeys. When I reminded her that we were in that group, I got a dirty look and was told in no uncertain terms that seeing her grandson on his birthday was an essential journey - this coming from miss goody two shoes! I think she's reaching the end of her tether. :cautious:

Took my mum up the local library for her Covid jab. In and out in 15 minutes but while I was waiting I watched an interesting tussle between a Covid marshal and an old codger who wanted to park in a disabled area which was coned off. He didn’t have a blue badge. The old grump got out and started to move cones out of the way, the marshal kept putting them back, the codger went to drive through them, the marshal put his hands on the bonnet and was trying to push the car back until another marshal intervened and joined forces with his workmate. The old codger gave up and drove off to park elsewhere.

Been practicing my speed sharpening of my carving knife with the sharpening steel like you see pro chefs doing on the telly. Another fail!
