My family love watching these programs, we watch a lot on geographic, Netflix BBC etc.

Watching tonight's one on BBC, it's actually heart breaking seeing what we are doing to out planet.

We have for a long time been trying to do "our bit" but have found it extremely difficult finding responsibly sourced products and packaging etc.

Our lives just aren't built around eco consciousness.

But how did we get here in the first place. Is it globalisation? Our desire to have everything and anything as cheap as possible, make as much profit as possible..

Is it our ever growing populations?

Etc etc

I know there is more than one trigger and is likely a multitude of things.

Should we be doing more than we are.

Should the rainforests be protected worldwide from forestation and human activity?

It's very scary what the future may be like,

We are a plague on Planet Earth. Was reading an article the other day.For various factors the population increase will slow and eventually peak then decline. Will reduce stress on resources .I am pessimistic about the future of mankind...As a species we are so clever but so stupid at the same time ..As well as very greedy etc.We will probably wipe out mankind at some point and Earth will re-wild itself and prosper without us .Imagine how stunningly beautiful Earth must have been before man came along and ruined it and killed so many animals.trees.forests etc.

Did you see the elephant bit? Tsavo East, I went there in the late 90’s, amazing. Elephants everywhere. So sad to see what has happened in such a short time. My eyes welled up.

Orangutans, manta rays, whale sharks, great whites are all on my (& the missus) bucket list to see in their environments. Looking at Tsavo, I really hope we manage it.

I saw some whilst in Kenya. Fully grown, about 4 feet long. Stunning.

Unfortunately Eddie, the rescue programmes need the investment from people like us.

Without our interest, help & money they will become extinct.

Even the microscopic particles that come out of our clothes in a washing machine are destroying wild life in the sea

there was a prog on the radio about it

This planet will not survive our tenure

and there is nowt any one or any country can do about it

absolutely nothing to stop it

slow it down may be but stop it

nothing

Not while people are running around in big V8’s.

true

but not all the time we consume resources at the rate the world population will have to feed them selves

our entire way of life is destroying the planet

and nowt will change

I will be long dead before it all kicks in
So I will continue to run my V8s

I did less than 500 miles last year in any of em

Whilst the population growth, grows ever faster, the wealthiest countries spend 100's of millions of pounds on fertility treatments.

You could not make it up.
