Could it be!!!

Going forward will we ever mix like we used to. Will we kiss and cuddle as much as we used to.

When growing up children build up their immune systems by catching everything that's going and would build up a resistance.

By protecting ourselves against Covid by living a more protective life: Not mixing as we did. Sanitising Sanitising and Sanitising more could we be weakening our immune system against other more common viruses and flues?

Do you get what I'm on about:sick:

Certainly do.....I don't think I could protect myself more from Covid - masked, gloved, sanitised, the full nine yards.
So if I get a cold now, I'll ask myself 'how the hell did I get that?'
John :)

Back in the day, we all had our injections and there was non of this conspiracy nonsense. So we were generally protected from the worst diseases, and the rest we could catch and despite some discomfort for a few days, we were no worse off.
With Covid, there is the added randomness that you don't know if you may actually die from it or not, or get some debilitating illness for the rest of your life - or spread it to a family member who may.

If the vaccines work, then fine, but it may take a good few years to see if this is a one-off, or if one of the new improved Covids has something to say about it.

It was bad enough in the past being on a train, or bus or in a room and someone sneezed or had some sniffles and you thought "**** me I hope I don't catch that bloody cold".

But I do wonder, as no-one seems to have had a cold, cough or sore throat for a year, what's in store for us from those viruses when we start going out again. :cautious:

I had a fella thst worked for me who was against all these cleaning products. He said if we sanitise our environment to much we will never build a difference system as we grow from children to adults.

This was 10 years or so back

Masks, as an example, will never seem like an oddity in this country again. Be more like Japan, China and Korea. See a person in a shop in a mask and think, "Mmm, must be vulnerable"; not, "What a weirdo!"

Yes that works with the minor viruses, I don't think the OCD sterilisers are any more healthy than the rest of us.
It's like the old 'get chicken pox while you are young as you don't want to get it later when you are an adult' thing.

But Covid is literally a novel virus and I'm not sure if we should or it does follow the same rules of the game.

I think that protecting ourselves against covid we wrap ourselves up in cotton wool for what would be less serious disease, colds or flue.

My teacher died at 31 after getting Chicken pox. Lovely man he was.

I had chickenpox about 3 years ago. The doc had never seen it in an adult before. The spots seemed to sprout overnight. There is a vaccine but it is not routinely given.

Luckily there is some kind of antiviral drug that stopped it in its tracks, it stopped spreading and slowly healed up.

Very contagious, I understand, until all the spots have healed, so I had to, as we say now "isolate" for several weeks.

There is a vaccine you can get against the related shingles, offered on the NHS to over 70's.

I have a very good immune system, on Saturday I was Jetting a manhole when I pull the jet out too far, I got covered in $hit. The customer came out and couldn't stop laughing, luckily he gave me a towel to wipe my face.

I should of taken a selfie!

Happy it ended well for you John. Your a lucky man.

I think it was shingles brought on by the Chicken pox that killed my teacher.

When/if the history of this 'virus' is written, I'll wager that the number of deaths from 'non covid' related illnesses/diseases will be far higher...

Probably why the 'covid related' death figures have been manipulated!

You should ditch the gloves John, they've been shown to be counterproductive. Just keep sanitizing your hands before touching your face etc.
