With which bit do you have an issue:
We foster social inclusion and encourage community cohesion.
We empower young people to improve their own position by building confidence and a positive self-image
We focus on safeguarding of children in minority communities.
Minority Matters is a charity that started in 2010 to provide children and young people educational support. Our purpose was to ensure that children from disadvantaged backgrounds were succeeding academically, so that they could break the cycle of poverty.
Is it the focus on "minority communities" that concerns you?
Or perhaps it's "disadvantaged backgrounds" that makes you feel threatened?
Are you worried that your children are not getting the same level of support that disadvantaged children are getting?
Do you understand the basis of charity: support them if you want to, don't if you don't want to.
Why not discuss your concerns with them, they are open to discussion, instead of trying to whip up hatred and division on a DIY forum. Perhaps you want to oppose their aims?
We want community members to be talking to each other and to the police and local authorities. This will ensure an open an honest exchange of ideas and ensure that they get the most out of our projects.
