Illegal immigrants...

Any brit expat who has not sorted out their residence status is a mug and deserves to be deported.
They had over 4 years and they didn't apply for a simple id card/ residence card which would've been their key to remain wherever they were living.

Most I’ve been able to stick is 10 days so never going to affect me.
Me, me, me...

Have you ever thought how the removal of freedom of movement that you voted for may affect your kids/grandkids/friends?

Who the hell votes on the basis of how their vote affects someone else?

affects someone else?

the sort of person who doesn't s**t in the street, dump their rubbish in the local park, or burn toxic chemicals in the back garden.

The sort of person who helps out at a community centre or donates to a charity

The sort of person who thinks he is not the only person in the world who matters.

The sort of person who recognises that one day, it might be him, or his grandchild, that needs a hospital, a job, or an education.

The sort of person who doesn't rip off his customers

The sort of person whose motto isn't "look after number one"

Yeah it is a bit of a ball ache now it's not as easy as it once was, but

last time I checked we can still visit European countries if we want, and I'm pretty certain we can live there to, all we need to do is fill out the correct forms.

It's not really going to affect people in the long run, there is another 120 odd countries which don't have freedom of movement and we still managed to find ways to visit and relocate to them.

Melodramatic comes to mind.

There is now criteria to be met. So you have to submit an application if you think you meet all the criteria. It's not an automatic right.
I haven't looked at how the transfer of pensionable/medical reciprocal rights have changed, but they have.
It's the reason why the EHIC card is different for expats prior to Brexit, than any emigrant expats since.

There are other changes. You can't simply exchange a UK drivers licence for a French one now. You have to retake your French driving test.
Also, it is far more difficult to change the registration of vehicles from UK to French (and I suspect vice versa) now.

I suspect there are many more subtle changes that may not have surfaced yet.

Certainly the border process has changed with greatly reduced freedom on carrying goods with you back and forth. That also applies to such things as vehicles, appliances, plant machinery, etc.

No you are waffling and obstuficating.

The issue is about a persons democratic vote (specifically the Brexit referendum), which is a personal vote for themselves and their beliefs not someone else's. No one votes on behalf of someone else, or for someone else's opinions or what someone else may or may not do. That's just nonsense, and you know it, or you would have been voting for what I wanted.

Find some more relevant points if you can, not just any old crap.

In France the option to apply didn't materialise until about September 2020 because the rules and processes hadn't been finalised until then.

B@llox!
My friend is in France and sorted his permanent residence as soon as the referendum results were announced.

It’s a (small) price to pay to stop the dross of Europe having the freedom of movement to come over here unchecked.
