Most of my classic resto's have been Fords. All the sort of cars that I used to, er, 'borrow' as a lad. I know, I know, lesson learned. Anyway here’s a few. A genuine Mk2 Cortina Lotus. I bought this as a rusted shell in a thousand pieces. This was the day it arrived:

The fun for me was building them. Driving them, well, they drive like they did back in the day. Noisy, smelly, **** brakes, **** steering, **** heating, **** handling......you get my drift!

Lotus Cortina would be worth a few bob today.

I think you'd be hard pressed to get a Ford Anglia drifting, unless you dropped in another engine, stripped it out, and fitted a locked diff. Even then it would be tramping more than drifting.

Well, as a teenager, I used to race Anglia hot rods at banger race meetings. Never paid more than a fiver for a car and didn’t have the money to carry out dngine and suspension mods like some of the sponsored drivers but one suspension mod I used to make was to get all the local kids to stand in the boot when the car was on the trailer to compress the suspension. Then (and this is going to sound crude) I would punch. 4 holes in the boot floor - two either side- lay a scaffold pole across the boot floor and drop a chain through one hole, under the axle and back up, over the scaff tube and then nut and bolt the chain together. Repeat the other side. Then, when every one jumped out, I had lowered and (very) stiffened rear suspension!

Get the pleather racing gloves. Roll cage made of scaffold too!:LOL:
