It'll be nice in schools, where the most violent upheaval in my lifetime is still ongoing; and when academic performance is at its lowest for 50 years, we'll chuck half the curriculum up in the air again. On the altar of 'taking back control'. Genius.

Of course it won't happen, non story. At worst, a greengrocer will probably not face prosecution for selling someone 'arf a pand' of carrots.
Anyway, has imperial ever gone away?, the road signs I see all indicate miles, and a horse racing commentary will always refer to a distance in 'furlongs' a cricket pitch has always been 22 yards.
Builders and engineers will continue to work in metres and millimetres.
I don't follow horse racing so I have absolutely no idea how long a furlong is.
8 in every mile.
I've never heard of it being used other than in horse racing, funny that.
Will youngsters stop asking for 3.5 grams of weed and go back to asking for an eighth?
22 yards is a chain - 10 (decimal?) in a furlong.
Some people found it difficult to fathom the depths of metrification.

It's because their minds are resistant to learning.
Imagine the impossibility of trying to teach them how many square feet are in a square furlong.

I am informed it is a £20 bag nowadays be it metric or imperial I know not.
