What have you been doing today?

I've had a few classic cars. I've also had a few boats. With both of them you get two joys. The day you buy 'em and the day you sell 'em!
Pictures please Mottie :)

I've had a few days of joy with my car. Hopefully will have some more soon, planning on doing a track day either at Oulton Park or Anglesey when the weather improves.

I've built a few from a rotten shell up.

To be honest, I got more enjoyment from building them than driving them. At the end of the day they were 35/40 year old cars, restored to how they left the factory and that meant 35/40 year old heating, ventilation, steering, suspension and braking systems! A novelty to drive at first but the novelty soon wears off. Plus, Mrs Mottie refused point blank to go out in them because of all the looks they attracted.

The bloke that bought the twin cam off of me did virtually sod all to it apart from a bit of chrome work and he got a six page centre spread in Classic Ford magazine. He got a coach down from Scotland to buy it. He was the chairman of the Scottish 1600e owners club and the story was about his search for the perfect twink for his collection.

That was a genuine Cortina Lotus, the RS was just a replica I built from a base 1100 shell but with all the right RS bits. The bloke that bought that was a member of the Force India F1 design team.

Beautiful beautiful beautiful work.

Both gorgeous vehicles Mottie, and excellent workmanship. Both worth a small fortune now as well.

I stared an evening course in welding and fabrication this month…hoping to get myself to a point where I can do some resto myself in the future.

Along with several hundred others, I lined the streets early this morning for the funeral procession of a 7 year old local girl who had been the focus of a long-running and well supported fundraising campaign over the last few years. So sad, and like others, we really felt for the family. Some tears were shed by quite a few people. R.I.P. little one. :(

Why would you want to stroke a jacket spud & tuna in a cafe? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I've been making a new shelf for the new TV we have installed in our bedroom. Now we can access our Netflix, Prime and iPlayer accounts instead of being limited to the basic channels when we watch TV in bed.
