Well, Boris has said sorry.
Isn't that enough.
Even Boris recognises that is not enough:
Boris Johnson says "it is not enough to say sorry" as Sue Gray report published
Sue Gray's report showing findings of her investigation into parties at No 10 during the
coronavirus lockdowns was published in part on January 31.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson made a statement on the findings in parliament, in which he apologised, but said "it is not enough to say sorry."
He said he would make changes to the Cabinet Office in order to learn from the report.
He said: "I get it and I will fix it and I want to say to the people of this country, I know what the issue is, it's whether this government can be trusted to deliver and I say yes we can be trusted to deliver."

So please someone correct me if I've got this wrong:
Boris was at some of these parties, and Sue Gray has said he was, but a) he didn't realise they were parties, b) he told parliament that all the rules were followed, and c) he doesn't know if he was at some of these parties and he needs to wait until the Met have investigated, despite Sue Gray already saying he was at some of them.
Now he's been told that there was a serious lack of leadership at number 10, of which he is the big boss, a serious lack of judgement, an excess of alcohol consumption, and a disregard for the rules, and he wants us to trust him, the one who's been sacked for lying before, (not to mention all his other misdemeanours) to put things right?
Does he take us all for fools?
Clearly his ardent supporters are fools because even now that they continue to support him, and think he'll change his habits of a lifetime.
Think about this:
It's been recognised that the bureaucracy at number 10 has become an institution to support itself.
So Boris's proposal is to enlarge it even further with additional personnel.
Many of you voted for this lying buffoon.
Many of us knew exactly what he had been like, and we warned you what an utter mess he would make of the office. But you ignored our warnings, and you voted for him, his policies and his party.
It's all your fault, all of those whose mind was blinkered to focus on that single issue, Brexit, that you ignored all the warnings of having a gutless lying buffoon as PM.
I hope you are now ashamed of your choices, but somehow, I suspect you'll do the usual, and bluff and bluster, deflect and divert.
