Which school subjects did you hate with a passion?

Didn't mind most subjects, but one thing I detested was cross country running, especially if cold or raining. me and a mate would jog along with the rest, then hide in the woods, have a couple of cigarettes and stroll to where the course finished, then re joined, usually 3rd or 4th place. Nearly got picked for the school team.
P.E / Games.....run by sadistic b'stards that tried their best to humiliate if you weren't sport inclined.
The 'better' occupations i.e swimming, rounders, badminton were reserved for those good at rugby or cricket.....if you weren't then it was cross country for 5 years.
Sheer misery!

I liked the sciences and, much to the derision of the boys, I did Dom Sci and Needlework.
Like to think I'm now better equipped for life than they are.
Wasn't so good with metalwork and woodwork.
History and Geography blurgh!
Fave subjects were Human Biology, English Lang Chemistry and French.

Physics
and I loved RE but then that was taken over by sex education classes which i did not want - it was the law at the time not sure now but you had to inc at least one lesson of RE per week or two weeks cant recall.

oh, french, total waster of time, got 1% in my exam and that was a lucky guess i suspect.

I wanted to know why they were trying to teach fairy stories and mythology. Teacher (dog collar, the Rev A.E Jones) was all sort of pious. I replied something along the lines that I didn't really mind what deluded people thought. Had I "no morality"? Yes sir but it's not off the shelf. Then something about guessing he teamed up with the same religion as his parents had indoctrinated him with, like supporters of Man City, maybe?
That got me a detention.

English. I can do the grammar and know enough words, to get by.
So what's all this bó1lucks about creating atmospheres and feelings? I used to object that they were only in the mind of the sentimental. Teacher ("twitty" Whitaker) launched into a monologue of purple prose, and asked asked what I though it conveyed.
I replied something along the lines that I thought whoever said it must have either thought he was clever with all his flowery allegorical flamboyant hyperbolic ornate grandiloquent effusivity, or more likely he was just being a repulsive ponce.
That got me a detention.
History
What's the point pf learning about what dead people did? How would knowing about the Duke of Wellington help me in my life? He (Brent Stevens) went off about how valuable it was to know about one's heritage. I replied it was only valuable if you could only get a job teaching it, rather than anything useful.
That got me a detention.

Same line as History really, but he (Jim M. Dale) was much cleverer than me. He should have been a stand-up, the way he dealt with hecklers. All I ever repied with, was "Ita vero dux, ita vero". Which you'll have to look up, because I can't reliably remember what it means.
