he let Truss take over only for her to be heaved out for upsetting the globalists only to be replaced by an unelected prime minister even by his own party
Surely both of them were put in place by the same process?

what exactly do you want people to do about it ??
People? You mean politicians, surely?

I one day, envisage a group of (grown-up) politicians that put the interests of the nation above a few selfish rich Tories and begin a healing process with our nearest trading partners. Meanwhile, old duffer brexer numbers will naturally keep on reducing, so much so that the whole idiotic Brexit nonsense will just be a distant memory and the butt of all jokes.

In the meantime, the UK will continue to suffer and those that love the UK will continue to moan. Tough titties boyo.

What politicians are in this forum than ??

Might have the odd party members
But other than that I doubt any politician from any party give a stuff about the views and opinions of a bunch of fruit cakes on some diy forum

Well when I say fruit cakes I did not mean me and a few others just the rest

Maybe the Remainers can recruit wee Jimmy cranky sturgeon to get a second vote. She seems good at convincing people to keep voting until she gets the argument she wanted.

Like Farage.

Or Rees Mogg

Farage in his day was certainly one of the most influential politicians. He punched well above his weight. Couldn't even fill a taxi with MPs, but managed to massively influence British politics.

Rees Mogg, occasionally makes sense, but he is no advert for the conservatives. He's as much a handicap for them as Abbott was for Labour.

Both wanted the second referendum

Both in favour of a rerun vote (until they got their way)

Truss was in the mix to get the prime ministers job along with other candidates, the numbers were whittled down by the conservative mps to two, Truss and Sunak where put before the conservative membership to vote, they opted for Truss.
When Truss got blew out, Sunak was left with an open door to walk through as all the contenders next time round fell by the wayside and the members never got a chance to vote.
Better known as a coup.
Hunt was way down the pecking order but like cream, rose to the top to become chancellor.

tell us when we actually got a vote to choose our PM? I've seen a few elections, they have always been to choose an MP though.

maybe a few have chosen that chance to vote for a party rather than an MP but if they voted so, the PM could change at any time with no say.

any body using their vote to try and choose the PM is misguided at best.

My post was outlining how the Tories elect their leader. That they become a de facto prime minister is one of vagries of our electoral system when they can replace a prime minister booted out not by the electorate but by their own party, and then can rule on a different mandate not having to call an election for the rest of that term.
