I am looking for bolts to attach a Vice to a worktop in my shed.
I found one that fits but I need it a bit shorter about 6mm in length and I don't have nuts.
It says on the head M BUFO 88.

Does anyone know if B&Q stock these or something that will do?

Thanks

What thread diameter and length do you need? Can't you just saw the ends off the ones you have with a hacksaw?

I think that should have been 8.8 (mm) rather than 88.

I believe that is a reference to the size of the head, and a quick google suggests that they are 6mm diameter machine bolts.

The head of the Bolt is about 10mm across. The thread across middle of bolt is about 7mm.

Probably an M10 thread then, prey tell, how long is it or how long does it need to be? B&Q sell such things but who kows if they will stock the exact length you need. You will have to have a look, or look online.

If you use a 10mm spanner to fit the bolt head, then it’s a 6mm thread.....far to light for vice applications!
10mm recommended, Screwfix do threaded lengths of bar, plus nuts and washers.

Can you post some pics (include your measure) to show what you mean. I don't understand why your bolt is too long. Surely it will just protrude through the worktop?

A bolt 6mm long would be useless.

The problem is there is a drawer right below it so I don't want huge long bolts. I measured it roughly by putting the bolt in the vice bolt hole then through the hole i drilled in the worktop.

"I need to bolt a vice of unspecified size, to a worktop of unspecified thickness. What do I need?"

Well, first you need to tell us what the diameter of the hole in the vice is, and how thick the worktop is

Or insert the bolt heads from underneath, then why does it matter if the threads protrude?
