We pay extra for milk from him as in the long run, it is cheaper than buying it from the local shops,

We used to always get our milk from the milkman (who lived in the next street) to keep him in work but when we were both working full time, he would sometimes come after we had left for work and leave our milk in the full sun all day. Lost count of the times we came home and first thing we did was pour the sour milk down the sink. Tried leaving 'no milk today' notes for him and then we realised he never called for his money that week and the following week we realised he had charged us for it. In the end, we got rid of him.

3 people but on Sunday there are 4.
Meat, Washing powder, large packs of toilet rolls can bump up cost.
Think we are about £120 a week.

Coconut Yogurt in Tesco was £1
Now £1.60

Aldi custard 55p now 75p
Onions x3 went up 20p in Aldi last week.
Saxon kitchen roll is up 50p for 2 in Aldi.
Aldi fish cakes in fridge are 2 for £1.49. Bargain, funny that's not moved in price.
I watch this guy review all supermarket food. Saves masking the mistake of buying. He don't have a Lidl or Sainsbury's near him though.

I shop at Aldi(veg/meat/cheese/bacon etc) and Sainsburys/Iceland(frozen) and notice the price increases every couple of weeks, i am a bit of a brand snob, but recently have tried 1 or 2 own brand items such as salad cream £1 v Heinz £3 and its ok, we spend around £200 a week for the 3 of us.
I know i can reduce this amount easily, we do waste a lot of food and spend silly money on treats etc, though rarely buy alcohol, for example i have 2lt milk cartons delivered 3 times a week and i pour half down the sink every week, been saying for years it's time to cancel, more fool me.

Almost all shopping done at Lidl, it's the nearest useful place to shop anyway, but we just buy what ever we want, or fancy so far. I've never been one for buying based on a good brand name - we buy based on what works, what tastes good. I would be appalled at any food regularly being thrown away.

I consciously avoid, expensive branded clothes, emblazoned with the maker's name, or motif on them - Why should I provide them with free, walkabout advertising?

I've got Fatface Tshitrts /fleeces/ sweatshirts 10 15 years old and still looking good.

I do wear designer stuff mainly hand me downs
from my younger brother.
Designer stuff does feel good on especially with a body like mine. But very rare for me to buy.

I used to be a brand snob, but now I buy very few branded items. Mrs S likes Teriyaki sauce (the thin variety) so we buy that from another supermarket, Kikkoman brand. She likes Kerrygold butter so if we see that she'll get a block. I tend to buy a massive box of Daz from Farmfoods, along with their Little Dick bog roll. They have a good price for 4 x 18 packs. Not as good as it used to be, but still the price is better. We have tried different toilet rolls recently for a similar price, but they are very thin in comparison to LD.

The other two brands we buy are Original Source shower gel, either from Aldi or Superdrug, but they have to be on special. And Harpic power plus 10x limescale cleaner. Despite being in a very soft water area (we don't need any salt in the DW), the toilets get scuzzy quite quickly, so a shot of that for a few hours clears that gunk.

But the vast majority of our shop is Aldi (or sometimes Lidl) own brands.

And if we can get things on special or reduced to clear, we will.

I would rather my money went into quality, rather than huge profits for a 'name'. I remember when the poor, would be paid to walk around with sandwich boards, advertising businesses - the difference between such a board and a maker's name emblazoned on it, is what?

This still happens.

Mrs does the main shop in Aldi haven`t a clue how much .
i use the ten percent discount at iceland on a tues to get lurpak , seafood , pizza and packs of fizzy drinks
Also use the company shop once a week were you can get some good bargains heinz soup constantly available at 75p a tin with regular offers of it for 50p or less .Bacon , sausages ,meat at good discount
Drink you can mix a large selection of various brands 8 cans or bottles for a fiver .
Last week they had a bargain on full fat proper coke 24 500ml bottles for a fiver . 12 1.25 litre bottles for £7.50

Maybe because they are made for fat Americans lol. I generally only buy my shoes from Jones or Dune but my most comfortable pair of shoes are some deck shoes from Clarks as they came in decent width fittings.

My dog walking/wet weather gear is normally Rab as they seem to be a very good quality. Used to be North Face but the quality has gone down a lot these days. Dog walking boots/trainers are either Meindl or Scarpa as they are a wide fit. I tend to keep my clothes for a long time.

Thanks. I’ll have to look in there then. I usually buy them from my local department store when they are on sale and I rarely pay full price.
