Driving to France

I used to do French evening class years ago, and felt I got good, but can't remember anything now.

I learnt French for two years. It's deux ans.

I'm bit clueless when ordering French. That does look good.

Android phone was very handy - take a photo and translate the menu instantly.

For such a proud nation, I found it strange that the French make it far easier to buy Belgian (or even Portuguese) beers, than their own stuff.

Funny, I was about to say I had some nice French beer, but only just Googled it, and its Belgium
The stuff call St Omar must have been French though!

That is another great thing about France - lots of free parking.

The car park (about the size of a Disney one) at Mont st Michel cost me €17 for a couple of hours.

OK, maybe not all are free!
We did pay to park on the street in Wimeraux, that was about 20 for the afternoon.
Even parked for free in Le Touquet, although parked at the harbour and walked into town.

We parked in the beach car park in Le Touquet. Quite reasonable.

St. Omer beer is brewed in St. Omer. Oddly, you don't see it in the bars and hypermarchés there.

France is a fabulous place to eat and drink. Taking pride in locally sourced, fresh ingredients, is commonplace, even amongst basic cafés and eating places.

Part timer! This is my step count per day along with mileage for the 5 days we were out there. 12.8 miles was a personal best for me though!

Over 17000 now today. Did 25000 odd in Israel under the heat. Very English weather this week
