The French are revolting.

We'd buy even more of our stuff from outside the EU at a better price if they continued to be spiteful about it. Now we have, they don’t like it.

Think that's likely to increase shelf life? And therefore prices?

And I thought our farmers were protesting about cheap imports

What is it that you want ?

My point is that the majority of my shop of fruit and veg wasn’t coming from the EU 5 years ago. Why should things change because we've left the EU? I had no problem with shelf life. It was good enough then, it’s good enough now. If anything, it seems to have got cheaper. What’s not to like about that?

Eh? Unfortunately, most people just want low supermarket prices. How is that an increase in food prices?
What people want and what is actually happening are two entirely different things...

In reality what we should be striving for is better quality and less consumption...

Good food in moderation is much better than bargain basement crap!

But most brexiteers are still in denial that the system has fallen apart since their 'pyrrhic victory'!

Shelf life is declining. You are aware ?

Costs are rising, that will affect prices. You are aware ?

Like a lot of brexit supporters, you are showing your ignorance of international trade and instead turning it into an emotive argument.

Leaving the single market increases trade barriers, things like sPs controls, customs declarations, transit documents……have all lead to slowing down supply chain transit times and increasing costs

Zilch to do with “EU being spiteful”, everything to do with U.K. leaving the Single Market.

We had frictionless, highly integrated supply chains across Europe….it was seamless. You didn’t know about, it just happened, it was a benefit of being inside the EU.

We do a weekly shop. As long as what we buy lasts until we next go, no problem
Fresh goods are not as fresh, as a result of brexit.

Whether you care or want to ignore, has nothing to do with whether it is true or not.

Yep. I’m fully aware of inflation. It happened when we’re in the EU too
Brexit has considerably increased trade barriers with our largest trade partner.

That has led to inflation which can be directly attributed to brexit.

Oh and a shortage of workers has also caused that, esp in farming and hospitality.

And now we have those frictionless highly integrated supply chains with other countries of the world and guess what - the EU suppliers don’t like it. Wait and see, business will overcome all and those barriers will gradually come down.

I'm glad you are happy. I much preferred products with longer shelf life. Its fresher.

We are talking costs in excess of inflation. Border controls.

Either you don't understand, or are happy with a worse situation

Are you saying it's got worse BUT SHOULD get to be as good again. Hopefully?
Not better, just as good as it was, hopefully
