Are we a racist society?

I suspect many of us are 'ist' in one or more ways and to varying degrees, however it's less acceptable these days to be openly ist, which it can be asserted is a good thing.

When it comes to employment, DEI policies aren't without their issues.

Very large organisations do, sometimes, small to medium don't as a rule.

And that reinforces my point if anything. As a society we discriminate by name so often (as a proxy for race) so much we have to put these processes in to avoid it.
I’m not disagreeing. Would you rather they didn't? In many health and local authorities, being a white middle aged woman wouldn’t get you to the interview stage! In one department of a local health authority that I know of, more than a fair share of the employees either come from the same village in Ghana, are related to those that come from that village or go to the same happy clappy ministry over here. That can’t be a coincidence.

I can't be considered sexist, if I was interviewing, the 25 year old well racked good looking blonde would always be the successful candidate. I'm all for women in the workplace.

All of us are guilty of racism, one way or another. We all have prejudices. No matter what colour or flavour. It's those having the intelligence, education and whit, to see past all the bile spouted by those that openly perpetuate hatred, that make a difference.
We are all born without racism or prejudices...

It is the control systems that we live under, whether that be political influences or the lies related to imaginary friends that build racism/prejudices from an ever increasing earlier age...

It's always someone else's fault is the standard way of thinking...

Or divide and rule!

One tends to find that those with less of the traits mentioned have gone out and embraced different cultures through travel...

Those who become embittered tend to be more of the isolationist persuasion!

Pretty sure you are ageist, essexist, northernist, brexitist, 4x2ist, and dogownerist to name but a few of your 'ists'.
