I have a on / off switch with Neon on my wall outside the bathroom. Neon is there to remind people light is on etc in the bathroom.
The Neon has now stopped working so i need to replace it.

i would have bought it at Toolstation or Screwfix so looking at their web page there i see various types.

My question is So i get to correct one so i can just swap it over are they wired the same ?

Its just for a light.
Its 20A
The light switch is outside the toilet.
People use the toilet & walk away.
As its gets dark the neon then basically tells somebody that the toilet light is on, thats all

Its on /off like a normal light switch BUT the neon is there just for visual to remind light is on when door shut

If i go buy the screwfix 43131 i should be able to wire it up with what i have for it to do the same job ?

I would get something like this with an LED indicator. Might last longer.

Just check before you buy that it suits.
So looking at the terminals on the item you advise does that look ok for me.

I have 2 Red 2 Black 1 Earth
These go into N & L & earth in its place.

Looking at the one you advise i see IN & OUT so as long as i fit N & L in correct holes the only thing that could be wrong with regards In / OUT is the light will come on when switch is in off position.
Is that correct

If you put the feed into the load terminals, then the LED will be on 24/7, but the light will still come on when the switch is closed.

ok obviously i only need it to come on when switched on.
I ask as i see no info on old switch which is IN / OUT like the new one

Maybe install a motion detector instead so it's off when not in use and not just when you notice the led

One trick during the old days of filament lamps was to wire across as simple one way switch fir example.
Say C1 terminal and L1 so the neon illuminates tge switch area on a darkened landing/hallway and then then neon indicated reversed sense to serve.
Never bothered meeself though

i think i see load written on the photo
so you may have supply on the other side , cant see from photo

so supply is IN and Load is out , and the neon is wired across the load

photo of new switch

I'm fairly sure I can see an embossed "load" on your old switch indicating the output connections.

You can also tell which are the output connections from where the wires from the neon are connected to.
