Well done Canada

Net Zero at any cost will do far more harm to Canada's already struggling economy.
Trump 2 'at any cost' will cause far more harm to Americas once successful economy

if put a spiteful man-baby in power, thats what you get

Trump has put him in such a strong position, he can carry on though and will have support.

Whether net zero is right or wrong isn't the argument, Trump has made it a Canada (rest of world) v USA thing.

As far as I can tell, Canada have boxed themselves into a corner by refusing in the past to properly link their gas and oil to the coast and their ports. They have limited capacity to export to anyone except USA.

If you look at most of Canada's exports, whether it be Lumber, Cars or Maple Syrup. Their largest market by far is the US.

Might as well keep on doing what they are doing and just ignore trump baby then. Canada can keep selling to the moron whilst shunning their Bourbon. Win for Carney, more humiliation for The Orange Rapist.

How do they ignore the tariffs?

Fact is if the US / Trump really go for Canada they could break it financially

Some thing like 70% of Canada's exports go to the states ???

So putting tariffs on Canada has a big effect on Americas economy

This week, official figures showed that the US economy contracted by 0.3% in the first quarter of the year, further fuelling fears of a recession. Trump wasted no time in blaming the shrinkage on Biden, who was in charge for just 20 days of the first three months of 2025, an argument only slightly weakened by the fact that the last quarter with Biden in charge saw growth of 2.4%.

Trump’s approval ratings have collapsed, falling to the lowest level for a newly installed president in the postwar era. He has now edged ahead of his only rival for that title: himself. The previous low watermark for a president three months in was set by one Donald Trump in 2017. Back then, 42% of Americans approved of the way Trump was doing his job. The latest Ipsos survey for the Washington Post/ABC News has Trump at just 39%. This, remember, is meant to be the honeymoon period, yet Trump is 10 points behind where Joe Biden stood at this point, 30 points behind Barack Obama and 44 points behind Ronald Reagan.

Over 100 days into his second term and the war in Ukraine drags on and Israel still kills with impunity in Palestine - didn't Trump say he'd only need a day to earn his Nobel Peace prize? For a blowhard he really sucks.

They completed the Trans mountain pipeline that goes to the port in 2024 but the prices charged for using the pipeline are higher than the pipeline to,USA so it’s currently under utilised, that would change if tariffs were imposed by Twump.

And at the moment Americans aren’t seeing the full weight of tariff damage.

Also there has been a surge in importing and customer buying ahead of tariffs, so when that runs dry there will be a buying slump.

Trump is going to have to totally cave in and drop China tariffs……he needs an off ramp so we will see sectoral tariff cuts happening until all the tariffs but a few will have gone.

No doubt the MAGAs on here will still be screaming how great he is, how it’s the art of the deal yada yada yada.

Canada is and will be seriously affected by Climate Change.
Canadians are already committed to net zero and they have ample natural resources to achieve their goals.

You should all be thanking Trump. He’s making the world a safer place.
