Firstly not all science funding is via the 195 different governments in the world. Oil companies for example are significant funders of universities and science. Any semi credible anti global warming scientist would be very well paid. This isn't theoretical either, look at Bjorn Lomborg. https://theecologist.org/2014/jun/26/bjorn-lomborg-and-mysterious-millions. Non corporate scientists aren't paid that well.Let's just say I am a scientist who has different views and data countering the doomers, how much government funding do you think I will receive to carry out my research.
Secondly when we've seen scientists who aren't paid by governments they have found the same. Some of the earliest science in CO2 driven global warming was done by oil company scientists.
Thirdly you don't understand how science works, the reward for making a paradigm changing discovery is incredible. There is nothing a scientist loves more than the idea they'd find something new. Science journals also prioritise dissenting material, it makes good copy.
