USA tariffs now at the levels which fuelled the big depression

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics

Eggs, chicken and beef prices are more than 10% expensive than they were ayear ago. Staple items.

Orange juice, bread, bacon are not far behind. Staple items.

I'm sticking with facts. You might recall eggs was an item used as an example in the elections.
but he wasnt in power a year ago give the prices from the end of January
You mentioned eggs .

But try this ......

WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. inflation picked up a bit last month as food costs rose, though overall inflation remained mostly tame.

Consumer prices increased 2.4% in May compared with a year ago, according to a Labor Department report released Wednesday. That is up from a 2.3% yearly increase in April. Excluding the volatile food and energy categories, core prices rose 2.8% for the third straight month. Economists pay close attention to core prices because they generally provide a better sense of where inflation is headed.

It is plainly freer of the burden of tariffs, disproportionately applied to extravagences of the better off.
The better off will disproportionately benefit from tax cuts, so increased prices will be offset by the extra cash the better off will have at their disposal.

No, go look for them yourself.

I'd love you to show us how much they have fallen since Trump .
you mean you cant .
.here is one of the foods you mentioned and said was 10% dearer than a year ago ....

Interesting link comparing a price to the day before.

My OFFICIAL figures of over 10% increase are from a legitimate and identified source. Want to say where yours are from ?

His link is actually trade price of eggs (30 cases). FOB, means delivery costs excluded. Its the price Free On Board, whuch means loaded onto a lorry etc, not delivered.

The egg prices refer to the national FOB average prices of white large eggs in wholesale markets, calculated based on the cost of 30-dozen cases of caged shell eggs.

Edited

Not the same as the price the shopper is paying

You know you are discussing current affairs with a dishonest troll, don't you?

Tariffs are a bit of a distraction from the real problem facing America, that is national spending is still greater than national production.
