It's not 'my' opinion, it's based on opinions of Palestinians I've read, that they regret not going for UN 181 as a means to having their own state, it was a mistake on their part. You refute this so you are basically saying Palestinians don't want their own state.
Can you link to this ?

The Jerusalem Post FFS! Going back to 2011 :giggle:

President Abbas (the many :giggle:) is well known for his non-violent approach to resolve the ongoing ethnic cleansing being committed in the West Bank by the Israelis.

Isn't it strange that fillystine repeatedly presents the UN Resolution 181 as the raison d'etre for the Israeli state.
But he never presents the numerous UN resolutions that Israel chooses to ignore, and they continue that very activity that motivates the UN Resolutions in the first place.

Israel has ignored numerous UN Security Council and General Assembly resolutions, particularly regarding the annexation of East Jerusalem and the settlement of occupied territories, including Resolution 242 which prohibits acquiring territory by war, and Resolution 2334 affirming settlements have no legal validity. The failure to comply with these and other resolutions is a longstanding pattern, noted since the organization's inception, and highlights a pattern of non-adherence to binding international law.

Why on earth is any of that relevant, any opinion going back as far as 1948 is surely relevant, and a reported interview is equally relevant regardless of the source.

Well known for that stance by who?

Every time I destroy one of your arguments you resort to cockwomblery. You've never once been able to prove me wrong.

It illustrates three things, 1. the length of time you must have spent looking for some opinion piece to support your own, 2. how out of date is your opinion, and 3. your one and only source of information.

The international community.
President Mahmoud Abbas has stated in the past a commitment to non-violence, a two-state solution and previous PLO commitments,

Every time I destroy one of your arguments you resort to cockwomblery. You've never once been able to prove me wrong.
That's because you refuse to answer my questions on your allegations.
You disappear and ignore those questions.
I have previously asked you for an example where you have destroyed my argument, but then you disappeared and ignored the question.

I ask again for an example of you proving me wrong or destroying my argument.

Cockwomblery, pure and utter cockwomblery.

Hamas were in power, Hamas attacked Isreal, the attack was an act of war.
This pictogram shows the number , age and gender of Palestinians killed by Israel in the two years before (approx) 7th October 2023

Until 7th October 2023 Israel was killing Palestinians slowly but surely.

The conflict did not start on 7th October 2023. That was just a maor conflagration of the ongoing conflict.

In the five years before 7 October 2023 there were 175 |Palestinians killed by Israel

JohnD is getting a bit trigger happy with his comparison of Jews to Nazis

Except he isn't doing that.

All that conflating anti-Israel sentiments with anti-Jewish ones does is to strengthen the perceived link between what Israel does and what Jews do, and in the minds of those who are not the sharpest knives in the box help convince them that if they are opposed to the Israeli regime they must therefore be opposed to Jews.

A more counter-productive tactic by people concerned about the rise in anti-semitism would be hard to imagine.

which I've reported to the Mods. If his offending posts are not removed I will also report them to the police.

No you won't.

Even you know that your preposterous claims would shrivel to nothing upon contact with the real world.

The conflict did not start on 7th October 2023.
It started long before that, arguably 75 years before. What began in October 2023 was just the latest intensification of a generations-long conflict.

And unless a proper Palestinian state is established, unless the illegal Israeli settlements are removed, unless Israel stops supporting the settlers terrorising Palestinians, unless Israel abandons its plans for its version of "from the river to the sea", unless all pro-Palestinian armed groups disband because there's no longer any need for an armed struggle against Israeli occupation, then it won't be the last such intensification.

Unless those things happen, the children and grandchildren of Hamas and the children and grandchildren of the IDF will end up fighting again.
