Climate Change

Quora ---- asks
Do all psychopaths have multiple personalities/alter egos?
And
Does every psychopath have an antisocial personality disorder?
That's as maybe but filly asked knave or somebody to take his mother's frock off Norman

So the question is why does Norman have it ?

Maybe filly wasn't clear with his comment

Good, dramatic headlines, will always sell newspapers. Editors, are exceedingly clever at thinking them up.
The more they catastrophize the more people are turning away and becoming sceptical - asking questions then being called climate denier so they just shut up and quietly think its all BS. So they catastrophize even more - and so on it goes.

I saw a report a few days ago, where an entire herd of reindeer died. 2000 of them.

The cause: the melting permafrost where they roamed had allowed a anthrax-infected carcass to become exposed, after thousands of years "in the freezer".
Ancient anthrax is wot killed 'em.

Further on, scientists reported viable viruses and bacteria that had been frozen for almost 50000 yrs, stuff that we have zero immunity to.
Interesting angle but why do we have no immunity to a 50,000 old virus

inherited immunity goes no further back than our mothers

and stuff from 50,000 years ago would be so different from now that we could have great difficulty dealing with it, equally they may be so different that they could not find away into our bodies.

so i'm thinking ridiculous scare story

What was in the report.

If you ask for my best guess, I'd go with

- everything your body does requires energy and adaptation
- your body doesn't waste effort on things it no longer needs
- this is why some vaccines need boosting periodically, you lose fitness if you stop exercising, etc

Humans not being "challenged" by a virus for tens of thousands of years may have lost the mechanisms that formerly protected them.

The report says half of these groups could be wiped out in the next decade if governments don't do more to protect them.

It claims the ... risks...Uncontacted groups are extremely vulnerable to basic disease - as such, the report says a threat is posed by contact with evangelical missionaries and social media influencers looking for clicks.
The people in Nueva Oceania are worried about the damage to the Mascho Piro's livelihood, ... the possibility that loggers might expose the Mashco Piro to diseases they have no immunity to.

I would stay a naturally aquired virus stays in the human dna forever
I am reminded of this

A human's resistance to a virus is easily forgotten by the body.
As viruses mutate one can suffer from a very close resemblance of a previous virus.

You are also presuming that whatever virus is down there, our ancestors developed immunity to (in part, or at all).

There may be a virus that killed, 30% of everyone who became infected.

Ebola has something approaching a 50% mortality rate, even with treatment.

That's why we have bio-secure labs.
