Climate change.

What is it with you and the ice caps??

They are melting at an alarming rate. Then the Greenland ice will go. Then the Atlantic Conveyor will stop. Then we have the same weather as Labrador.

Never mind eh?[/quote]

OK; some time ago, the 'experts' were saying that the south of France will eventually end up like the Sahara, and Britain will end up like the south of France.

Now this week's climate-change latest is that it's the other way and we are going to end up like something in the Arctic circle.
So which is it?? Are we going to be hotter or colder??
Let's all ask the effing experts because THEY are so clever compared to us mortals and THEY know everything.

You tell why the ice caps are melting then. (he won't).

How is resource depletion going to make this world a better place?

Using the earth's natural resources ultimately results in a better standard of living for everyone.

Not for everyone.

Then donate your car/computer/fridge/washing machine/tumble drier/microwave/dishwasher/central heating/electic kettle/toaster/power tools/lawn-mower etc to a third-world charity. That might even things out a bit.

Well I don't have all those things as I can't afford them.
But those I do have I won't be donating them anytime soon as I had to work pretty hard to earn the money to buy them in the first place.

The scrap yard up the road from me gets all my scrap which is then shipped out to china for smelting and re distributed to poor people as a new product.
That's about the best I can do at the moment.

If they're melting, it's due to natural influences.

I've just done my own in-depth peer-reviewed research and they're melting
because there are too many polar bears giving off methane.

In other words, it's not research, it's opinions, and my opinion is no better or worse than those of the experts.

When I see David Attenborough showing us a little polar bear stranded forlornly on a piece of ice it p****s me off.
I just want to make sure I can fill my car tank up, heat the house properly and
get lighting when I flick the switch.

That's where you are so wrong.

Metertologists and climatologists predicted the long cold tail off too this winter due to north pole ice melt and they were 100% accurate.

Your approach is commendable, but there's a slight flaw. Instead of shipping all our scrap out to China for melting down to make new products, wouldn't it be more efficient to melt it down here in the UK. Think about all the energy powering the ships taking it out east.
But no; our Government, in its infinite wisdom, has decided that we are going to set an example to the world. We are not going to have any more high-energy industries here so we do not put any CO2 into the atmosphere.
Instead, most of our products from basic industries wil be produced elsewhere.
So not one less gramme of CO2 goes into the atmosphere - it just goes in from somewhere else. Brilliant.

That's just it you don't care.

That's why its important the government steps in to make sure you pay your carbon taxes.

No; it was just a guess which they happened to get right for once. You forget to mention all the other times when scientists and meteorologists get it wrong.

My considered research tells me that it will be a fine day tomorrow.

No it wasn't a guess. It was based on their research and findings in their specialist respective fields.

Any monkey could guess the weather tomorrow.

Norcon;
It's not that I don't care, it's just an attitude which comes from personal experience.

What happens when the lights go out?
How will you survive?

Probably the same as you and everyone else, but what's that got to do with it? Anyway, if the lights did go out, it will be because of the high carbon taxes on coal and gas.
Some power generators have recently closed down some coal and oil-fired power stations, so blame the Government. The fuel is there, but we don't allow ourselves to use it.

I think monkeys have more sense than these so-called experts.

No-one on this thread has explained why the experts got it so wrong in predicting dreadful outcomes with all the diseases I mentioned.
If they were wrong then, why should we believe them over so-called man-made climate change?

I don't recall the experts getting it wrong. You must have been reading the mail again.
