Kitchen worktop lifting

Well consumer right act 2015 is worth quoting , manufacturers seem to have accepted responsibility for fault , speak to citizens advice regarding the replacement costs.
If it gives me any more problems after my repair I may do that but the company only offered me (eventually) the replacement for the worktop alone and I would have to source my own fitter. The upheaval and cost of that is not worth the effort at the moment, but like I said, I will try and take it further if it continues to warp. I won't be using the same fitter again as he didn't finish the whole kitchen refit after we paid him. Just goes to show when someone is polite, recommended by friends and you trust him almost as a friend they can still let you down. Never again!

Yes it's a 2 part sealant and adhesive. Thanks for the compliment on the job btw
Looks good from here.
With the offer of a replacement how long would it be open for I wonder and I get your point of the faff with getting it fitted and I dont think I would either. I wonder if there could be a cash offer instead of the worktop, probably will be less than the RRP of the worktop but maybe of more use to you.

I could put that to them but now I have repaired it that would be a tad embarrassing if they demanded to inspect before parting with the money.

This is a product failure.

The liability is with the supplier, therefore the labour cost is also their responsibility.

I sub to a high end kitchen supplier, same issue as you are having. But this company ordered a new worktop and paid me to change it, they value their customers and their own reputation.

Did your kitchen come from Howdens, Benchmark
