Lucy Letby case - Evidence discussion thread

I watched a documentary on it, it makes a good case for her being innocent
OMG what do you have to do to prove you are innocent, all of the world leading experts saying she isn't guilty but a numpty with no experience of this says that you are guilty, they listen to him. I have no faith in the judicial system.

Watch this.

Can they not now say the conviction she has been handed previous be now open for the same scrutiny
No. Not due to this decision not to prosecute. They can argue they’ve already presented the “best” ones. Of course if she was acquitted of these new charges it would cause some political issues which they are clearly not interested in fuelling.

But how can the world's leading experts, 6 of them all say she isn't guilty when an average Dr used a paper and interpretted it incorrectly and the author of that paper told them so? Surely the whole prosecution was based upon that

As I recall her original problem was that no expert witness were willing to put their jobs on the line by acting as her defence. In addition her legal team couldn’t get their head around the statistics. Add to the fact that she scrawled a “confession” and is probably a bit of an odd ball and you have a case that’s not going to go well

So she could now sit in prison for the rest of her life and could well be innocent?

I think if she has been charged with the previous "murders" what makes these further nine so different?
It makes a difference to the parents of the babies...

All want an explanation, not just the parents of the ones she has already been convicted of killing.

However...

That may actually be the case, the leading experts all disagreed that there were any murders at all. What an awful thing to happen to her on the word of a few average Drs trying to cover up their mistakes.
The state will fight to the last to prevent her overturning her convictions...

As with similar possible miscarriages of justice it will take an overwhelming amount of evidence to reverse the decision, since the state has an incredible amount to lose!
