No he did not say that at all. - I have given you the actual numbers to date of uk made and uk installed wind turbines. Remember we are talking about minions made up --

Minions good proportion is actually about 0.6% -he just just made up his statement and gave it as fact.
And you have also made up what the chap in the vid actually said.

"We make the blades in Hull, the cables in Hartlepool..." This is for offshore wind which has the bigger capacity. Remember, onshore turbines are limited to 125m tall, which essentially limits it to 2-3MW. In reality, this is often even lower.
Offshore, they go much larger, which is far more efficient. Currently up to 108m blades for producing up to 14MW. Big beasts.
The upshot is that in terms of capacity, more is installed offshore these days.

Also, they make turbines on Isle of Wight. They used to make offshore blades, but as they got bigger, it has switched to onshore.
There are other manufacturers, mostly making smaller turbines.

Biden blew up Nord Stream. Nutters here are restricting use of our own gas on our own shoreline (doorstep ) so we have to burn millions of litres of shipping fuel to get it shipped over to us. Feel scammed yet.

The figure I saw was for LNG. USA provides 60% of Europe's LNG.

46% of total europe gas comes from LNG and 54% from pipelines.

So, about 28% of our gas comes from the USA.

30% comes from Norway.

But I am still interested in the overall issue of whether renewables are the best option for energy security for a continent which is resource poor.

There will be extra LNG capacity coming on stream over the next four years from Canada and Qatar.
