GHIC card.

Mottie has already adequately picked up on the "what took them so long" point, although I'll add that the EU was formed in 1993, meaning that we were members for about 27 years (depending on how you count the date of exit), roughly half of your 5 decades claim.
Nope.

This is what Mottie admitted when I asked him to explain....
I can’t.

The "economists" you refer to are academics and likely paid shills of the EU or the global elite.
Nope.
They do not represent the real economy
Yes they do. Even Euro sceptical economists admitted Brexit has been a failure for the economy.
- they are paid to create a model that demonstrates a desired outcome.
Nonsense.
If you ask Britons
Im asking you to explain this...

the EU was deliberately structured to asset strip and destroy the UK when we were members
...which so far you haven't nor will you ever be able to because it simply isn't true.

We're getting there. So, how long after the issue date was the expiry date? Come on, just answer. No swerving.
I'm getting there, you're not...

Average time of EHIC card validity approximately 5years...

How many times could that card be used and more importantly was there a time limit imposed?

The answer is as many times as you like and for any duration during the card's validity...

Now take the GHIC card...

It can only be used for a period of 90 days during any 180 days period, regardless of issue/expiry dates...

But hey, you continue to spout your brexit nonsense for as long as you like...

The only people you are deluding are yourself and your fellow brexit followers who don't care what harm you cause to the UK !

Same for GHIC

Same for any unexpired EHICs under the 90/180 rule.

No difference.
If the EHIC card was replaced by the GHIC card in January 2021, and they lasted for 5 years, won't they all be expired by now?

Really?

Why would you think he has an everlasting one?
He was always banging on about it. Looks like it’s expired now.

The 'rollover' was the agreement that current EHIC cards would remain in force until they expired...

Some intelligent people renewed their EHIC ones just before brexit...
I wonder who he was referring to?
The same intelligent people must have thought that time would stand still after Brexit too.

In any case, who the heck goes on holiday or travels to the EU and just relies on an EHIC/GHIC? Only an unintelligent person, that’s who. EHIC/GHIC only covers emergency medical cover in a state hospital whereas a proper travel insurance covers private and state medical care, repatriation, missed departures, loss of luggage, theft and a whole lot more.

As will everyone else's

So this was a bit of spiteful nonsense then?
Ask @ellal. He seems to have an everlasting one.

There are some slight differences, e.g. UK students studying in EU, and some people in Iceland, Norway, and Liechtenstein with residency rights.
The EHIC was for EU only, whereas the GHIC covers for some other countries.

And pre-existing conditions.
Pre Brexit, UK residents could bypass queues in UK by going to an EU country with a pre existing ailment to receive medical care.
They didn't need to be referred to a specialist by a doctor, they could simply consult a specialist in the EU, directly.

You do realise this is a personal best for you. Three posts in one thread under different names. Well done.

Our replacement GHIC's arrived today. Going to Portugal in a months time. Just bought travel insurance though - I’d never just rely on them when holidaying in the EU.

That's mottie for you...

He hates it when he gets picked up on the nonsense he posts...

Which happens just about every time he drags his knuckles across a keyboard...

No doubt he'll come back with his same old 'one trick' jibe ;)

How’s that EHIC you used to boast about - has it expired yet, leaving you helpless for free health treatment in Iceland nowdays? Brexit bonus! :ROFLMAO:

Yep, the usual one trick nonsense...

Wrong country as usual, but hey why stop you when you are on your continuous decline into the pit of insignificance ;)

Really? You don’t shut up about the place. You were even going to move permanently to your 'partners' country, remember?

So was this a lie?

It doesn't seem to be a problem in Iceland..

Getting a woman to change her name just because she's getting married is akin to a sign of 'ownership'!…….. I'm married to an Icelander…

I really am quite disappointed in you.

There really is no reason, and no excuse, for "holidaying" in the corrupt, malignant EU. There are so many countries in the world with whom we have shared histories and shared political wordviews and yet you choose our enemies.

And you try to pretend you are a Brexiteer. So many lies.

Hey ho, I guess it is a free country. I can only hope your holiday is dreadful and you learn your lesson for next time.
