I did see a few on-the-street interviews last night. It looks like Burnham is going to get a lot of votes from people who just want to replace Starmer.

You mean Labor voters.

Bizarrely, people are voting Labour precisely because our Labour government is so terrible. Sadly they don't seem to understand that there's a lot more to this terrible government than one man, in fact Starmer's probably limiting just how awful they'd be without him.

Yes it was a shipshow and they were voted out on the promise of making it all better -- within months they made it worse and every month it gets worse for people and jobs and renters.

Sadly it was long term economic problems that are the cause, not a few months of a new government. It’s ironic that businesses who milked furlough are now wingeing about the gilt markets

If Carol's going to go bragging publicly about banging a load of blokes in succession then she really can't play the innocent victim if someone says she's a bit of alright. It was actually meant to be a complement (for a self-confessed right goer anyway).

So labour looking even worse improves their chances of getting elected?

Possibly true, they're so divided into various factions within the party that those who hate Starmer are now voting Labour to get rid of Starmer. ALl logic has left.

Burnham is widely expected to keep Starmer in a senior job anyway.
