As the title says, would you accept this timer for a garage roof with possible habitable living space on first floor attic space.

Looks fairly standard of the stuff that you get delivered, rough with the smooth and all that. Unless you take the time to go and sort out which bits of timber you want from the supplier. Maybe next time upload even more photos.

not enough images to make any real comment - do you have any more you could share

Ill take more pics tomorrow. Any jobs ive been on before when roofers get deliveries, it hasnt looked as coloured or damaged. Anything ive seen before looks new. This looks like its been lying in the builders yard awhile.

Ill go through the whole pile tomorrow after work.

going from the colour, that bottom pile has been out in the yard for 3 or 4 years, probably explains the damage that looks like the fork lift has hit it many times

Yeah, this what i was thinking. 2-4 years. Im sending it back. Surely they have to take it back.

I certainly wouldn't want to be paying full price - depends what you are using it for,, could be very good value with50% off
I would be wanting something

It's a long time since I've used timber that was not regularised. Was it cheap? It it C24?

Full price. Got sort of a deal on all materials but was getting this same price in other builders yards.

It's c16 timber. We can use c16 here in Ireland. I know c24 is better but it's only a garage but with that said, still want decent c16, not firewood

I'll bet the grey stuff is the best of the lot: it's got sticks between the boards indicating its been properly seasoned.

C16 is perfectly fine where it's man enough for the job ( eg a 7x2 C24 won't work but 8x2 can work as C16 without needing C24)

Danage is another thing entirely: I would be looking to get some replacements but most of it's fine. None of it's new don't forget, it's been a tree in a previous life!

Whats the thinking its the best?

was onto the sales rep and he agreed, looking at pics he said it shouldnt have been sent. Getting new 6x2s delivered. C16s.

My 9x2 joists are c16s
