Plug in solar

Data sheet, but no fitting instruction yet,

I see a little problem here.

If this is the case, seems little point in plug in solar with batteries not included.
Except those that may find it useful, it is only to supply point of use after all. It isn't meant to take over from a "full" installation, those will still continue to be installed.

The reason for hard wiring it myself rather than plug in solar is safety . I’ve seen several report’s where on disconnecting the plug DC voltage can occur through the plug pins . The anti island tech only cuts AC apparently and the tech inside the micro inverter can produced a boosted DC charge to be present at the plug pins.

Well, depending what the rules say if it must have a plug to plug in then it must have a plug to plug in.
Whether or not it must have is irrevelevant to the fact that electrically speaking the only difference in having the plug on is that you can choose to unplug it to isolate it, if you use a switched socket it may or may not isolate both L & N when switched offf (such as the original MK Logic range) some are DP switched some a SP switched.
So a plug and socket gives you the opportunity to unplug to isolate regardless off and switches that may be on that circuit or part of that circuit.
Really . So provided I don’t want to export I can already hard wire solar via an inverter into my existing 6mm circuit in the garage.

So I can connect plug in solar vis a plug but I can’t use the safer option of hard wiring it into the same radial circuit i can plug it into without it being signed off by an electrician.

Seems crazy to me as surely the possibility of AC or DC coming through the plug that I’m touching is more of a risk than me hard wiring the inverter into the radial socket taking into I can extend a circuit in my house .anyway.

Or am I thinking about this wrong .

Tell me I’m a fool if you wish

You're a Fool.

No only joking so do not take offence.

What you are allowed to do and what you are not allowed to do and what you are not allowed to do unless this that and tother is not always sensible or is not sensible at the extremes and it is easy to see how it often occours.

I a not allowed to do certain things or I am allowed to providing this that and tother some things I was allowed to between Jan 1st 2005 until after 2017 because I am no longer registered as a competant person.

I must have become incompetant!

Yes some of you might agree with that one :giggle: ;)

Not foolish, but them's the rules, a plug is deemed safe for approved products.
How about me using a 16/32 amp industrial socket and plug on a 32amp radial as they have shrouds around the pins as that would be safer than 13 amp plug or would that not be allowed either .
