In 1916, on his fourth attempt, explorer Ernest Shackelton successfully returned to Elephant Island in Antarctica to rescue 22 of his stranded crew members, who had survived on the barren island for four and a half months after the sinking of their ship, the Endurance.

I was watching an interview last night with fighter pilot Heather Penny, she was told to intercept the 4th plane but she had no missiles on board, so she was told to crash into the plane.....luckily for her the brave passengers handled it themselves....I'd never heard of her or that story until yesterday.
 
Speaking at a commemoration event this week, the US president claimed firefighters had carried him away from Ground Zero, where he says he had arrived with workers to assist with rescue efforts, over fears a nearby building could collapse. “Two firemen, big strong guys – and I’m not the smallest guy in the world – they grabbed me under the arm, said: ‘Got to get out of here.’ And they literally lifted me up,” the Republican president claimed.

This is, of course, false.

Plenty of false stories and conspiracy theories still go around the Web, weaving a narrative that becomes harder to untangle over the years - 25 years! A whole generation has grown up and considers this a page in the history books but i still recall every moment of that day as vividly as it had happened yesterday.
 
And remember the almost 10,000 more that have died since from the effects of the collapse. Obviously Trumpf was saved and remarkably seems not to have any ongoing health problems despite being at the epicentre when it all kicked off.
