Should we have an amnesty for illegal immigrants?

It's not a yes/no answer it has to come with riders.
However if you want a simple answer then I say yes.
I'm sorry to see you have stated they are crims because you dont actually know their circumstances but hey generalisations are the name of your game Joe.

The clue is in the word 'illegal'

the way i see it they are "allowed "to disappear as it saves the cost off housing and benefits whilst there case is heard often years they are not allowed to work whilst they they wait for there case to be considered
at present a very small amount come back on the radar even then they are often told to report to immigration but instead do a runner again

FYI the wording of the question would not have scored full marks in a GCSE as it's a leading question using antagonistic language.
However, putting that aside and dealing with the subject matter, it seems foolish to tie one's hands and prevent the possibility of ejection in the future by allowing all unknowns an amnesty now. It also sends out the wrong message.
Hence, my response of "no". Not the silliest thing I've ever heard (based partly on the fact that there are several hundred more ridiculous things I've heard on this site over the last few years!!), but not an idea that is without dangers.
