WHO does not rule out that virus started in a Lab

When flu cases have stopped suddenly in the last two years.
Flu cases in the last twelve months may have been drastically reduced for several reasons:
face masks
social distancing
lockdowns
hand hygiene.
reduced social interaction, e.g. home working, closed schools, etc.

All of these are effective protections against flu, just as much as against Covid.
I for one, have not bothered with the flu' vaccine this year due to those protection measures. Normally i would ensure that I received the jab.

You keep believing that & your world is all hunky dory.

Flu is a virus & none of what you cling to is adequate protection against a virus.

Ridiculous comparison
Not all, the same principle applies, absence of evidence does not prove evidence of absence.

The WHO originally played down this theory, why do you think they reintroduced it, they are definitely not conspiracy theorists.
They haven't re-introduced it, they've simply said that the absence of evidence does not prove the evidence of absence.
It can be applied to all non-proven theories.

Again, conspiratorial nonsense.
It can be applied to any and all non-proven theories.

Well one would not expect it to be the dominant theory in China..........:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
And one does expect it to be the dominant theory among Trumpists, and other xenophobes and bigots.

And now apparently the WHO...........(y)
The WHO have said that they can't disprove it. They wouldn't be able to disprove that it came on a meteorite from outer space neither.

Do you really think the WHO would bring this up at random, or to be mischievous.
The non-proven theory has been doing the rounds for about 12 months.
The WHO is scheduled to visit the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Researchers there handled coronaviruses but have rejected claims that COVID-19 emerged as the result of a leak. Dr Daszak told Sky News
"We're all aware of the hypotheses around the potential involvement of the lab in this and we're certainly going to ask questions about all of the key aspects of the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

"If there are data that point towards any hypothesis, we'll follow the data, we'll follow the evidence where it leads us. If it leads us to a seafood market and a cold chain, we'll follow it there.
"If it leads us to a wildlife farm or a wildlife market we'll go there. If it leads us to a lab we'll go there. Everything's on the table and we're keeping an open mind."

No-one suggests that any of these measures are adequate protection.
But they all help to effectively reduce transmission.
Even a vaccine is not adequate protection, but it all helps.

I think the most plausible cause is these disgusting 'wet markets' in China where Animals that are seldom in contact with each other are kept in high numbers in close confines. It is the perfect breeding ground for new viruses to emerge!

Still very interesting that it is believed to have come from a wet market close to a viral research centre where it is rumoured that animals that had been used in experiments where sometimes sold as food in these wet markets rather than being incinerated.

It is just horrendous how we treat other creatures.

I don't think it will be possible prove conclusively the source of the virus.
This will leave space for other theories and with the ramping up of Sinophobia by the media and the politicians these theories could be elevated to the status of fact.

It is only disgusting to you because you are not used to such markets. There are plenty of reciprocal instance that appear to be disgusting to Chinese. Not so much now but decades ago, it was considered really disgusting that western cultures did not bathe as regularly as eastern cultures, ot hat they did not change their clothes frequently.

Your suggestion about the proximity of the lab to the market is simply an elaboration of the current non-proven theory. And therefore, just gossip and unhelpful, prejudicial rumour.

Yeah, it's horrendous how we treat other people because they have a different colour skin, practise a different religion, or have different cultures.

They already have in some people's minds.

believed to have come from a wet market

Actually a fish market but why not enlarge that to other markets.

Some people on here need to be careful. The men in black might neuralyze them as they know the entire covid thing is a mix of lies. The men in black thought that the virus would make a change from cockroaches and the X-Men failed to stop them from doing it.

WHO can visit as many Research labs as they want I doubt whether they have any authority to alter the research due to the fact that these labs are there for the security of the Country .

Porton Down for example ( does anyone know what goes on there, its also possible there could be a virus leak from there in the future )

All we doing here is playing the blame game.

I blame the shills.

They the only ones who could possibly benefit from all of this nonsense . . . .
