Totally bonkers out there today!

If global warming is not happening, explain how we're having a tropical storm in Essex!

I was out driving a good few years back, when the rain was so heavy, everyone pulled over as they could not see.

One instance of a heavy rainstorm, is not proof of global warming.

I had something similar, driving a 7,5 tonner on the M40 near Oxford in the 90s.
Going up an uphill section and it was raining so hard, it was coming down the hill in waves.

It always rains in Cornwall.

Definition of a British summer.
Quote by King George 11.

3 fine days and a thunderstorm.

This weather shows the major flaw in having to have a 'staycation'. Imagine paying a small fortune for accommodation, sitting in all that traffic, having to holiday with thousands of possibly drunken, tattooed Brits and getting stung for meals and drinks - while spending most of the time sheltering from horizontal rain. Couldn't pay me enough!

I was once caught in a Cornish storm while walking across a bay, and it was like being in a warm shower.

I had a jacket on for the evening.

Quintessential English holiday: eating Cornish pasties in the rain.

I have fond memories of being on holiday as a child, sitting on a Cornish beach under an umbrella and wrapped a a cagoule.

yeah, there's a reason why we flee to the Med and beyond every summer!

We're off to Bath for a few days tomorrow. Weather doesn’t look too good but, as JohnD would say, Mottie doesn’t care!

Had a weird one the other day; driving down the M5 somewhere around about Droitwich in absolutely hammering rain. You couldn't see a thing in front even with the wipers on warp factor. Then, in a matter of 20 or 30 meters, I emerged into blue sky sunshine and the road was completely dry. Looking in the rear view mirror there was the blackest cloud over head but in front, literally, blue sky.

Just along the road. Weather's not looking bad for the next two or three days. In fact, quite nice.
