I'm looking to connect this washing machine tomorrow and never done one before. At the back, there are 3 very similar looking round holes with plastic covers (one top central, and one bottom left and one bottom right). You can see the one on the left is open. What are these/does it matter if...

Help - Air Admittance - Where?

Hi, I was told to use air admittance valve to stop sink from gurgling in doing out my new house. Also I understand this can help prevent unwanted smell. Hi guys, I am a DIY'er and looking for advice on a kitchen waste run. Which run is preferable A or B? For A, from the washing machine/dishwasher waste, I get the runs to join the main flow asap. Self Leveller - Should I Chisel All Stains/Old Paint

I need to level some of my kitchen floor - it has some fresh paint spills which I can of course get up, also some fresh sticky tile type primer which is quite hard to get up. There is some pretty strong embedded duct tape/previous adhesive from lino. As you can see from the pics, its a bit of a...

Thanks for the responses, changing FCU to a socket sounds my most preferable option. Is this quite straight forward enough for DIY'er to do? (Obv will turn off electrics and have a wire detector pen etc)

Connecting Gas Cooker To Electrics - Am I Being Thick??

So I had a lot of my kitchen re-done which meant a lot more electrical points etc. When I had the electrics done, I asked for specific sockets to connect the hood extractor and gas cooker. Got a floor that is mostly level and flat for my kitchen that I want to put LVT tile on (floating floor kind). Most of the kitchen is old marley type tile and perfectly level (see picture 1). However there is then a transition (see picture 2) which is a very slight slope, then the floor is...

    Painting B&Q Style Cabinet Doors

Hi, so I've got B&Q kitchen cabinet doors. They are 'normal' so material is noted as MDF/chipboard, however in construction type it says 'PP wrapped' I understand this to be some sort of very fine plastic covering - I assume to help with wiping down stains. I want to paint the doors, so assume...

Please see image below, I have a UPVC french door frame which is loose at the top and the whole frame moves when you pull the handles when locked. Screws are within the sides of the frame and are fine. There isn't much lintel above the door frame. So what is the best option? Long drill bit...

So took my radiators off to do redecorating (and drained system). I'm now looking to put all rads back on apart from the bathroom one. I noticed when re-attaching the rads, the pipes that connect aren't perfectly vertical. If I shove the rad to one side then the left side connecting pipe becomes...

Bought ex-council house and looking at having sheet vinyl quick thick one 4mm in kitchen/entrance hall. I have been informed the old tiles are likely to contain asbestos. Is This Lead Kitchen Waste Pipe? If So, How Connect Plastic Waste?

OK, so guess as hole is already there, I can just get a long masonry drill bit (got a beat SDS drill) and drill/chisel through little by little, pull out pipe out. Line up 40mm plastic pipe to fit in. Stupid question, how would you set it in the brick and then fill up from inside/outside...

Is This Lead Kitchen Waste Pipe? If So, How Connect Plastic Waste?

Oh that's a concern. They'll be like a 2m run from kitchen waste which will then hook up to dishwasher and then upto washing machine before passing through the wall. If the copper pipe 32mm section is left for just passing through the wall to the drain like 30-40cm is that OK? Could plan a fall...

Hi, is this a lead kitchen pipe? I've tapped it and it sounds different to plastic waste - and where it goes outside, it has a green tint to it as per pictures. Assuming it is a lead pipe, how do I hook up plastic waste pipe to it? I was preferring to use compression push fit rather than...

What To Do - Gate Posts

Thanks for all the comments. Even when I get the posts out, if I want a normal 3ft gate to fit, then I'll need to drill closer in one of the post holes by however many cm to make the fit right................ Unless I go for made for measure.... Also you may see the gate is set at an angle, and...

Should I Do Anything With This Connection To Soil Pipe

Yes its a cast soil pipe. No other services connect. The OCD aspect of me, just looks at it - and thinks it looks messy and not the best connection - therefore just make it look a bit better and give me some reassurance that all fittings etc are new before I box in.
