Connect Blue Ray DVD to my old tv

I have a Blue Ray DVD player and the only output it has on it is HDMI. My oldish LCD TV does not have a HDMI port on it. It does have VGA and DVI ports on it. I bought a lead to turn HDMI into DVI, but have since found out no audio is present. I cant find a lead that turns HDMI into DVI but also...

Wierd convert x to dvd problem

MY convert X to DVD software has gone from working perfectly to not being able to convert any file stored in the My Videos folder. If I try to add a file to convert it just locks up and CPU usage goes up to 100%. The strange thing is if i put the file in any other folder it will convert it. I...

MUSLIMS ARE THEY OFF THERE HEADS? OR THEY AFTER OR HEADS OFF

No, I think it will happen, it is only gonna take a couple more attrocities. People are starting to realise that this can not go on. You read the papers round here and it's more often than not these imigrants who are commiting the crimes. This muslim religion is a disgrace, but then again so are...

It's only a matter of time before it goes off big time in this country. We are far to soft, but the time is comming when people will get sick of this sh:t.

Sorry but if it does'nt leak then it was done competently nobody could do it any more competently if there is nothing wrong with it. And will you please let up with the drink driving analogies

At last somebody with a bit of common sense. Gas is only dangerous if it is leaking. so if it is'nt then job done. Or should i say competent job done.

    Corgi

If some body disconnects there gas fire and then reconects a new one and there are no leaks and the fire works, then they have done a competent job and are thus competent in this case. Obviously this does not mean they are a competent gas fitter and can do any work, but we are talking about DIY...

[quote="BobProperty I really can't think of a proper reply quickly at present but that argument is along the lines of because someone drove back from the pub while bladdered but they didn't hit anything or anyone they were competent to drive.[/quote Not at all, if two people do a soldered...

But still correct none the less. So a competent job was done.

    Corgi

Surely competent gas work means that there is no gas leaking out, sure the pipe may be the wrong size or the fittings look over soldered, and a hundred other things which could be unacceptable to regs. But the fact remains that it is not leaking gas. And is therefore safe, and thus done competently
  17. A

    Corgi

Er, if the work does not go wrong then it must have been done competently, hence making the person who did the work competent

I did'nt realise what a can of worms i was opening with this topic. As to the reply from corgi, if you think about it what else can they say, because how are they ever going to find out. If you do your own DIY gas and get away with it then it is almost impossible for them to find out. I dare...

    Stroppy plumbers and sparkys

Why is it that it only seems to be the electrics and plumbing forums that you get stroppy, unhelpful answers. God, you guys have a massive chip on your shoulders. The whole reason for somebody posting a question on this site, is that they need your help. Why then do you feel the need to...

Sorry I asked. But I'm gonna do it again. How about doing gas work in your own home then, cos i'm pretty sure i would not charge myself. As to this compentancy thing if you were considering doing it you must think that you are competent, but that dos'nt mean you are.
