Sorry I'm a no paste or ptfe man on compression,it's not needed unless your a ham fisted gorilla who over tightens everything.

Dick,I bet you also say when using Yorkshire fittings you must add more solder cause they always leak if you don't.

No mate, never use Yorkie fittings, they're for Gays & DaftyDIY'ers.

Gorilla?!! My poor spinster sister got assaulted by a gorilla at Glasga Zoo years ago. I phoned her & week later just to ask her if she was hurt. 'Hurt'!! she said 'I've not had a phone call, text, e-mail......flowers nothing.....f.cking man'!!

ptfe on a comp joint is pure dog poo in my humble opinion. do it properly or leave it alone.

:? the website suggests it is an American product

And you don't think American products are sold in the UK.

Got news for you fella...

These things have been going backwards and forwards for a while now.

And you can buy their solvent cement in Plumb Center.

That's not very nice 'slapper' I lost my wife last year.

The same Dick puller as on the screwfix forums?

Re: Will this heating system work.
Wow!!!!................LMAO!!!!
Oh my gawd, never laughed so much since the wife died...............:^O :^O :^O :^O

Who the **** designed & installed that???

I have nothing against people using ptfe tape on olives as it is just as bad as using jet blue or boss white on them.

you need nothing with a good fitting and olive...

but the point still stands is ptfe tape can be a massive red flag when you use it like this plonker

unbelievable so called "help video"

Metal on metal contact stops you tightening properly due to friction, that's why washers are used with nuts and bolts. Anything that defeats that friction is desirable.

Is that why spring washers are used on nuts and bolts too Joe?

I dont even keep ptfe tape on the van.

What do you use for rad valve tails OOI?

Most of the stuff I do is replacing existing and it takes 2 seconds to 'beef up' the old olive with a bit of ptfe.

Less messy and easier to carry in the tool box.
