Happy Friday 13th RF. :D
Sounds like more of a typical day for me than any of that Homeserve rubbish. Some days I can drive hundreds of miles and not even get any work done.
Still wears you out though.

I'm very jealous about your day, not all of it just from 21:00 ish onwards.
Filling up with Stella is much more fun than filling up with diesel, better mpg too.

6:30 - Wake up for brekkie. Same time as usual, even though hospital appointment at 9:00 today (usually start at 8:00).

9:30 - Drive to wholesalers to pick up materials ordered last night. 10 min drive.

9:45 - Drive to the first of the day (a job for Oxfordshire Distric Council believe it or not, albeit here in Devon).

10:45 - Arrive at job, an hours drive. This is rare for us, do not usually travel far for work.

12:45 - I have changed several 2D fittings, fault found a PIR lighting cct outside, and measured up for a quote for some outside sockets.

13:45 - Arrive at office and sort the answerphone, return calls etc (usually already done early AM). Take a quick flit around the net.

14:15 - Drive 10 mins to next job, changing some light switches in a pubs back areas - They have had the staff painting because it is quiet, and they have painted over all the sockets and switches, making most of them in-operable.

15:45 - Drive home (20 mins) via a site I did a quote for last month - they want to meet to discuss positions of heaters.

16:30 - Arrive home, find dog has been ill in kitchen, hall and dining room. Sick and poo. Lovelly.

Notice wife did not take the steaks out the freezer.

Notice wife did not leave parcel for DHL to collect in porch - I know have to reschedule.

Notice wife left flats screen on, with DVD menu to desperate house wifes on screen for the last few hours. The screen burn is shocking.

18:00 - Showered. Wife now home. Time for Tesco.

19:30 - Tesco done. McD on the way home.

20:00 - Wine from Tesco is open.

22:00 - Second bottle now half empty.

22:20 - Notice flat screen has returned to normal - no embedded image. Am glad, can forgive wife.

6.00am Rise and shine bright and breezy. (Yeah right! )
7.00am Leave house to pick up lift to customers premises. Doing some Asset Control Management work, (stock taking and locating motors, ) so only dressed in basic company uniform, (T-shirt, trousers and safety boots).
8.00am Arrive at site and get asked to just take a quick peek at 2 brake motors on the packing line. Brakes are not holding properly and pallets are sliding down slowly.
9.00am Tell customer brake is wrong rating for job and needs new higher rated brakes fitted.
9.05am Asked if I could have 'a fiddle with them' and see if I could make them any better.
10.30am After 'fiddling' with them, wiring the rectifiers differently and resetting the gap a number of times still no improvement. Trace wiring back to control cabinet and find rectifier wiring is wrong!
10.45 Cabinet wiring is corrected and brake motors working perfectly.
11.00am Try to explain to motor manufacturers rep that he has had a wasted journey from Northants as situation is now sorted but could not find out who called him out in the first place, (just someone from ******)
11.30 Try and spruce up a bit to go and do my paperwork but can't get the dirt out of my hands or clothes enough to stop making little marks on paperwork.

Spent rest of day wearing latex gloves and spotless boiler suit, to keep everything clean, in temperatures over 27c.
Sweated like a pig and couldn't wait for 4.30pm!

Why is life never straight forward? :(
