Please advise.

Central heating circuit functioning as normal.
No hot water since microswitch in V4043 is not being closed by motor mechanism.
Mains power to MV (brown lead) present , ie HW thermostat working corerctly. Boiler lights if M/V microswitch closed briefy manually.
Installing new MV makes no deifference.

Am I correct in thinking the MV is not opening properly?
What might be preventing this?
Header tank is ok - not empty and ball valve functioning.
Bleed any air from the HW circuit?

Any thoughts/ suggestions welcome.

Thanks

is the lever loose when you call for hw ? valve opening.
what part did you change complete valve or actuator ?

No it doesn't.
When operated manually, the microswitch actuator moves toward the microswitch but stops short.

Apologies re the previous post.

I changed the complete M/V - actuator and valve.

so the lever still has resistance on it when calling for heat ?
that tells me the motor is faulty or you've wired it wrong.

is the power on the wires to the motor ?

Yes, the manual lever presents some resistance to movement when the system is calling for heat.

I am not able to check the wiring first hand at present, however, my recollection is:

Mains power on brown lead to MV.
Blue - neutral.
Green = ground
Grey and orange (microswitch connections).

Any further advice in the interim is appreciated, otherwise I will follow up on this in a day or two.

No hot water since microswitch in V4043 is not being closed by motor mechanism.
Is this a problem which has suddenly arisen or has it been going on for some time?

Am I correct in thinking the MV is not opening properly?
Yes! But if, as you say, you have changed the complete valve, it can't be a problem with the valve - unless you were unlucky enough to buy a faulty one.

One thought - is the valve the wrong way round? If the valve is trying to open against, instead of with the flow, there could be problems. There is an arrow on the body showing direction of flow.
